I was either going to wait untill my brother gets home or do what you guys will tell me. Do i just put it in and upgrade.. or.... will i loose all my stuff? i dont want to have to install everything again :( am i safe?

The only way to keep your data is to do the upgrade instead of a fresh install... I did this, just note that it takes a LONG time to do the upgrade if you have a lot of stuff on your HD... It took me nearly 2 hours to do the upgrade and I don't even have a lot on my PC (about 150GB of data)...

You should have a backup of your files anyway.

Anyhoo i persoanlly suggest making a brand new install so that it performs better and is more stable.

I dont think i needed 2, i only had my computer 2 months if u remember. I just updated it now im running fine on WINDOWS 7!

HDD's break all the time, they are relatively unreliable....really you need to backup your important data.

make sure you do a upgrade install....not clean install
