Windows 8 Beta - How safe is it, how does it work - I want to try

If I install it on a separate partition, will everything work as usual? I had a few problems when I installed XP after Win7 on a separate partition, don't want that happening again.

Is it even worth it? Compatible with apps, etc, or is it just to play around with? Can I just use it as my OS?

The dev build is largely to show off the capabilities of its touch/pen friendly portions of the OS.

If you dont have a touchscreen or a pen input, you're going to get very little out of installing the dev build at the moment.
