[QUOTE="Large_Soda"] He is referring to "Ready Boost", where you can use a flash drive as a page file to help speed things up. It is a nice feature, but it won't really benefit someone with 2GB of RAM.
As for Vista and gaming, I suppose it's hit and miss. I've been playing Halo 2, with no problems, althought that is a Vista only game so one would expect that to work. The other games I have played without issue are F.E.A.R, C&C 3, anything on Steam, and Riddick. The only game that really ever gave me an issue was Call of Duty 2.
But I agree that in terms of performance something feels off with Vista, so for that reason I have been dual booting.

/well ant that odd? im like the opposite of you. my call of duty 2 works like a charm but my steam games dont work at all i tried playin css and it kept sending me to the blue screen and restarting. i bought fear yesterday and it seems to work fine with me. I aslo have a gig of ram would that ready boot technique help me at all? i have a couple of flash drives does it matter what kind you use?
'Well to be fair my Call of Duty issue may have been because I upgraded my video card, went from a 1650Pro, to a 8800GTS and I didn't reformat or anything. CoD 2 launched got me into a level but had a grey screen, everything else was there, my ammo count, reticule and the sound, but no video.
As far as the flash memory goes, I don't think it really matters, you could use a USB key, or a Compact Flash card from a digital camera.
You might wanna read this to see the pros and cons to ready boost. All in all I don't think it will really matter for games.
