Windows Vista ---> Windows 7... worth it?

I have been thinking to switching to windows 7 because I feel the need to upgrade. Vista does it for me, but everyone keeps talking about 7. Should I upgrade? is it worth it?

And also, what is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit because i think i might have to upgrade to 32 bit if i needed to because it wont go to 64 bit.. what does that mean? Thanks

Presuming your version of Vista is fully updated, I say don't waste your money in upgrading. 7 is great, but Vista is perfectly usable, especially after all the updates.

Also, you don't really need 64-bit unless you have more than 3 gigs of RAM. Basically 32-bit is an older archetecture, whereas 64-bit is the newer one. But most programs you'll use work with 32-bit, whereas some programs might have compatibility issues with 64-bit still.

64-bit remaps the memory hole from 3GB to over 4GB, assuming your BIOS supports memory remapping and also supports EFI BIOS's along with hardware DEP. As for Vista, kill it and get 7.

Yes, it's worth if your going to 64bit. 64bit allows for more memory, faster bus speeds, which means faster computing.

If you have 4 gigs then yes it does. I still say save your money, but it's really your call. You'll see improvement, but nothing worth buying a whole new OS for. This is in my opinion, of course. It seems most others say it's worth it so look at my advice with a grain of salt.

Is really not any faster than Vista, or provide better performance in games.

No. It would be better to get more RAM.

Edit: Never mind that, since you have 4GB RAM, which is the max allowed by 32-bit, and is more than enough these days.

deusex works fine for me. even played Nameless mod great. i have an i7 930, 6gb ram and ati 5770 (as playing it with a 4850). if u want to play deus ex better, then get s team and buy it, coz its only $9.99US

TC you would really just be wasting your money, so you can say you don't have Vista anymore, even though Win 7 is an updated Vista.

I could see doing the upgrade to Win7 64-bit if I were running a 32-bit version of Vista. Overall I don't think it's a worthy upgrade for Vista x64 users though. Windows 7 is really just another update of Vista. I have Win7 on my laptop, and Vista x64 on my desktop. For all intents and purposes they're the same OS in my eyes.
