I've currently got XP home installed and can get Vista business 64bit free of price, the question is, would it be worth doing for someone who mostly plays games etc?

I had the same question at the vista release. I could got vista business for free from my College but I stick with my Xp SP2 because Vista Business is not good for gaming.

Vista Business is fine for gaming. I use it, got it for free from College, 8130 in 3dmark06, all games run fine.

Only things you are missing are the built-in games (which are still there, just not apparent), Media Center, Bitlocker, DVD Maker, and Windows Movie Maker (oh what a loss...;) )

If you meet the system requirements for Vista, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, just stick with XP, its better for gaming anyways.
