I recently upgraded to Win7 ultimate 64bit. I have about 4GB of RAM and two 8800gt's installed but i get terrible FPS which i benchmark this game. Other strategy games like COH work fine. Can any one recommend what I can do to get better performance in this game? Or is it the new OS which is most likely the issue? Never hap issues using winxp 32 bit.

Obviously you did a clean install since you had XP. What FPS are you seeing and what were you previously seeing?

Min FPS used to be 28 at the least on winxp. Max would be 50FPS with not much going on when playing WIC. Now i cant even get 20FPS using win7 64bit. The nvidia 8800gt cards are configured for SLI.

Try using DirectX 9 not 10. Also consider turning down the physics settings.

This is probably it. Since you were using Windows XP you could not access the extra DX 10 features at all. With Windows 7 however, you know have access to those features, and they will obviously be slowing you down.

I have the exact same OS and Videos cards. I am running WIC at 1920x1200 and never drop below 35 frames. Make sure you shut down all programs you do not need to run the game. Also make sure you run the proper Nvidia drivers and not them lame WDDM 1.1's that Windows 7 installs. Hope this helps.......

I am pretty sure I have DX9 drivers installed but i will double check when i get home. My res is usually either 1024 by 768 or 1280 by 1024. I iwll repost how things go along once i get home tonight. Thanks for the replies and sorry i have not gotten back sooner :)

So these are the drivers I have on my PC directly from nvidias website I have two 8800gt's with a SLI configuration

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_195.62_whql.html

According to them these are the drivers i should be using for win7 64bit. I used these drivers last night and got a little better FPS performance with the above drivers i have average 15 fps..with these drivers http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_x64_181.71_beta.html I get about 25 fps average at best. when i run dxdiag it says driver version is dx11 which is completely misleading. I have saved a txt file from my dxdiag but cant upload it on here. i will paste main info below, any help is appreciated.

It's not misleading at all, you do have DX 11 and DX 10, and nobody said anything about the DirectX, they said check "in game" to see if it's not set to DX 10, and if it's set to 9 you most likely have additional physics settings activated, settings that aren't present on XP because of DX9.

I have steam and xifre running and my antivirus of course...and what ever game i am playing those are the only processes running. I cant find an option to turn off in game physics other than lowering the settings to low graphics...are you guys using windows7 32bit?
