Hellgate will likely be better, but Witcher looks very promising.

Hellgate will be awesome no doubt about that. The witcher is the only promising (as said before) RPG game I've seen in a while

Both look good, Hellgate's setting intrigues me more, but I think Witcher will be the better RPG.

I think that The Witcher is a deeper roleplaying game than Hellgate. No doubt I will enjoy both, but I think I will be cherishing Witcher moreso in the long run.

dont know anything about The Witcher

WeirdObelisk

Basically, The Witcher is an RPG with a focus on real time combat, real story-driven consequences for your actions, multiple ways to solve quests, and a dynamic world. It is based off a series of books popular in Poland.

The Book

The game.

  • This video shows how much choice you have in the Witcher and summerizes the consequences.
  • Graphics presentation 1
  • Graphics presentation 2
  • World of the Witcher

All of these video's are approximately one year old. The developers, CD Project, also worked closely with Bioware and Black Isle in the past. They received acclaim for their work on the Polish translation of Planescape: Torment, and also worked on the Polish versions of Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. The Witcher uses an updated version of Bioware Aurora, and has been in development for about five years.

the witcher is an exciting looking game, a real roleplaying game for once - when did we last have one of those? - and it's a reall hard call

the witcher has depth and choice and roleplaying, hellgate has awesome character development, a lifespan in the billions of hours and online party play

while i'm anticipating hellgate more, i think the witcher will be the better experience simply because it's so long since we've had a good roleplaying game, while the hack n slash genre has been kept alive in titan quest, and hellgate, as awesome as it is, is really just another diablo game

so, yeah, i want hellgate more but i think the witcher will be by far the better game, it's just not what i really want right now
