How big of a difference is there between the two? graphics? script? could someone elaborate?

did they add more to the original storyline in addition to the extra stories?

Not a huge difference, but a noticeable one in terms of graphics. The character animations like hand gestures when they speak and things like that weren't that much improved.

- More animations, improved special effects, better optimisation and inventory

- A lot of dialogue rewritten and recorded again. Example: in the original, the old Sean Connery witcher told the others to respect a girl and then addresses her as "babe". Now he calls her "child".

Those are the biggest changes.

Buy it at retail if you can, it comes with a guide, a short story, music CDs, a map and a making-of DVD.

I think they also released it as a patch to owners of the original game.

I love this game and can't wait for the sequel, which looks fantastic judging by the videos on here. Is this one of those RPG's where you can carry over your save like Mass Effect?

Quick question, what fps are you guys getting in the W:EE? I am running it maxed out at 1680x1050 with 4xAA, and it runs fine most of the time but sometimes I get dips into the twenties or thirties. I have a Q6600, GTX 460, and 4gb ram.

I have both editions and the enhanced versionput more stress onmy computer than crysis doesbecause it runs 32 bit vista... the game is "enhanced" for 64 bit.Unless you really, really want slightly better graphics, just go with the original. You can allways get v1.4 later on if you changeyour mind.

If you already have the original game, you can just update to patch 1.6 and it will be the same as Enhanced Edition.

And that's why I pre-ordered the sequel. The developers did right by us legit customers the first time around. I'm all for supporting that kind of mentality. :)

The Enhanced Edition is a patch

Darth_Kane
Essentially. But they did release a retail version of the Enhanced version. CD Projekt really did an excellent job at standing by their product and supporting their fans. It has shown time and time again, and even more with The Witcher 2.

Note however, that the Enhanced Edition comes with lots of goodies, such as a making-of DVD, music CD's, a map, a walkthrough, a novel. It's a truly great rerelease. =D
