Try LOTRO if you like lord of the rings that can be really fun if you get into it

Indeed, are you that important in your own mind that you think we want or value your opinion on something you have zero experience of?
Apart from what the cretin says Wow is a great game, I played since release and I'm on a break at the moment, its good because it has an enormous range of ways to play suited to casual players as well as hardcore.
You can go with either NCsoft or SOE (on their official websites), IMO any of the MMO they propose you to play is at least equal, if not better then WoW. That is just my opinion however, but millions of other gamers make this choice as well.
And after that, you can start to dig for many other smaller companies. EVE online (I would never play it) has a strong playerbase and is quite...different. They would tell you that there is no point in having more players if you never have more then a few thousands on the same server...all of EVE players are on 1 server...that is about the population of the 10 most populated servers in WoW...all on 1 server...and it doesn't seems to lag from what I read. But that wouldn't be my choice, not my tastes.
Again, the options are many, and just out there for the picking. I could argue on specifics and try to prove to you that City of Villains is the best, but that would be as pointless as the peoples telling you WoW is the best thing since sliced bread. You can read my review of the game, their review of the game... it is all there, waiting for you to read if you want to read OPINIONS, and you can also find tons of info.
To find a new MMO, select MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYERS on the PC research tools...by the time you play all the games listed there, Blizzard new MMO will be out...and BioWare new MMO as well...and Stargate!!! And countless others! Aion is coming out soon I think!

So your basing your opinion on.... dreams?
played it for three or four months, it was basically just grind grind grind, got boring, and said fock this.
If you enjoy doing repetitive actions all day long to finally get some tier three armour after about a few months(or days if you have no life) then sure go ahead, if your poor blowing 15 dollars a month might not be a good idea, but then there are people like above who have good money, and look down on the poverty-stricken people who'd rather not blow 15 bucks a month for a game.
Yes, us poor people.
Its sorta like working, you do repetive tasks all day long to move up the ladder only to find someone better than you, now that I think about it it is sorta like life, cept with poor graphics, and most of the people are overweight virgins in either their teens, 20s, or 40s.
Stupid Joe: " Sure I love to blow 15 bucks a month to play in a virtual world so I can try to get the best gear even though the second I get it, four hundred other people will already be better than me, and in a few years the server's will be shut down and I will have just wasted a chunk of my life playing in a virtual world with a bunch of **** elitists, n00bz, and other "interesting" assortments of people"
So why not go outside and play life, you can dress up in fantasy clothes to make it feel like your playing WoW.
So basically what Im saying, is its not worth it in the long run, but its your choice ultimately, listen or listen to the fanboys, your choice.
Oh dear, I see a pack of rabid WoW_fanboys amassing, to the bunker!
(runs to the bunker to wait out the fourty year old WoW legion attacks.)

The only thing I can say is, if you have to even consider the price (15 a month) than you really should be spending more of your free time looking for a better job.

having a better job isnt going to make WoW play any better, the monthly price is only one of the cons of the game, I hear how people can play for days on end, and wander how on earth they manage to take it, its just doing the same repeative tasks over and over again, sure, every video game does that too some extent, but thats all WoW is, its nothing but Grind in a Box, being a high level dosent make it any funner, broken down WoW is this:
socialization + grinding+ vainity= WoW
in other games its more about a central story, WoW isnt about a central story, its just people talking to each other and grinding and questing, its boring, but I guess its cause Im one of the people who play a game for the story just as much as I play for the gameplay, these people play solely for I guess gamplay, socializing, and vainity, since the only thing that drives you foward is the thought of having the most L3373$7armour to show off to your friends.
but Im not going anywhere with this, listen to the fanboys I guess, "WoW is the greatest game in the world and only poor stupid people dont play it".
(leaves thread.)
Nothing wrong with World Of Warcraft, it wont make you lose your job, it wont make your girlfriend leave you, you'll still have a healthy social life after playing it, and WoW didnt kick a puppy.
People hate WoW mostly because they hate the MMORPG genre or they hate the fact that WoW is crushing their favorite MMO. Just my opinion though. I played WoW for 2 years, one of the best games I played, there is an endless amount of things to do, lots of people to meet and talk with.
Nothing wrong with WoW at all, it may be somewhat of a grind, but you know, what MMO isnt? Compared to other MMOs WoW is hardly a grind.
Oh and Ahurigan stop trying to hate on a game you obviously know nothing about, your sig gives away the fact that you are obviously biased against WoW.
[QUOTE="TeamR"][QUOTE="RK-Mara"]There's many better MMOs.
zeroncali
lol. I wish I could agree with that but thats really not true. Not at all
Star Wars Galaxies before they ruined it was WAY better than anything WoW could EVER be.
True dat.
wow=online crack, it's hard to quit.
there aren't many better games to play than this, but it will run your life. i'd steer clear from it.
