Hey folks, I'm new to the GS forum and to start I have one big question about World in Conflict. I have a problem, I can't run it. I have a Dell Dimension 2400, Windows CP Home Edition,Intel Celeron Processor, 2.4 GHz, 256 MB RAM, Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller w/ 64 MB (VRAM), and Direct X 9.0.

I do know that I need more RAM, lol just figured that out today. I was planning on buying a 512mb RAM stick which would bring my comp's RAM to a grand total of 768mb. What I was wondering is if I bring my RAM up to 768mb, would the game run fine?

I know my computer is far from state-of-the-art, but is it powerful enough to play the game?

I think you may need a new graphics card, intel onboards are really, really bad.

You don't have a graphics card. You have an onboard (a chip on your motherboard) graphics accelerator that has 64 megs of shared memory. That means that it doesn't have it's own ram but "borrows" from your main ram. So you don't even have 256 megs when you are playing games. You only have 256 - 64 = 192. I don't know if you can get a video card into that system, and if you can't, you're pretty much screwed. BTW, even if that WAS a video card, WiC requires a 128 meg video card minimum.

Umm that computer couldn't handle WiC at all. It is really really outdated. Time for an upgrade.

Sorry bud, looks like a new compy for you, but the good news is that if you get a good one (even if it is kinda expensive) it'll last for a while. My friend says that the 8800 series should last for at least five years, so you'll be in good shape if you're willing to pay the heavy price. If you do, make sure to get a good hard drive. I had a built-in 70gb one on my first PC and I filled it almost all the way in a year.
