I was thinking about buying the game
But I heard it was very sh***y and a waste of time
opinions?

People just act like its nothing but a huge waste of time and money. It's not, atleast for me. Just don't ever let yourself play everyday for 10 hours =). It really is a fun game, aslong as you don't expect everything to come easy and fast, it will be an awesome experience for you. I have 2 Level 70s, Paladin and hunter, and now working on my mage.
PS - Lightbringer is an awesome realm, we need more horde! Alliance welcome too, but we need more Horde, seriously.
Isn't sorta like God of War?
If so...I'm def. getting it

I love dealing with the **** online, It makes my day
But thanks I'll look into it
I"ve played for years and here's some advice: 1. You will meet the biggest a**holes in that game. People who will spend much of their time trying to make your life miserable for their own pleasure. I advise you to ignore that and just try to have some fun. 2. Be very very careful in picking your character class in the beginning. you wont be able to change it ever again. Dont pick other people's favorites or "recommended" classes. You MUST pick whatever YOU want. No matter how much they suck, no matter how powerful they are.......as long as their fun its all that matters. Dont worry about sucking either, you'll master your class and whoop some *** with him/her.TheBigBadGRIM
Trials somehow annoy the crap out of me, I'll probably test it out at my friends house and decide from there, So far it seems pretty good
Buy the 14-day trial for like 3 or 4 bucks at your local game store.XaosII

no need to go to the local game store. go to blizzard.com and download it for free. you get 10 days. and it's a trial, but it's no different from actually owning the game, as in you get to do everything everyone else does (with a level 20 cap), and you get to keep the characters you created. so it's like paying $0 for 10 days, and then you pay whatever's the monthly fee ($15, i think) if you want to extend the service.

Would that be better than just going to buy the software from the gamestore?[QUOTE="fireandcloud"][QUOTE="shannonMETAL"]Trials somehow annoy the crap out of me, I'll probably test it out at my friends house and decide from there, So far it seems pretty good

1) you don't have to pay the $3 or $4 cost.
2) you don't have to go to the store.
3) you can play right away (after download finishes).

Meh WoW isn't worth the money, save the cash and upgrade for Crysis or buy a load of better games for the PC...1005
That's one man's opinion
Personally, I think WoW is great value. For the price of a movie ticket you get access to a staggering amount of content, and a world large enough to keep you exploring for years. Blizzard keeps the updates rolling with free content that could fetch a decent price by itself.
It's not for everybody. If your not into MMORPGs don't expect this to change your opinion. If you are, then it's shoulders above anything else on the market right now. And if you allow yourself to get sucked in then $15 a month is probably the cheapest entertainment you can find outside of Tijuana

Curse those imaginary fat fingers!
lol that was funnyBasically, you have the choice to be weak...or to raid.
But you do have the choice, you can be a weakling...or you can raid.
I say no to that mentality a long time ago.
Raiding: Wasting an hour before a group of 24-40 players get rdy and moving, then facing a mob by doing almost nothing but a few actions expected...basically, you are not a hero, you are a small component of a bigger machine, and you are expected to be happy about it. :P No thanks. Never again.

There are no 25+ raids that people do anymore, its mostly 10 and 25 man....And the strongest players in the game do not come from raiding they come from PVP, a PVP geared player could wipe the floor with a raider. So you are wrong, you can get strong a multiple of ways, not just raiding.

Yeah. What the last poster said. There are many ways to advance your character these days besides raiding
You probably havent played in awhile but WoW definitly isnt a "Raid or die" game anymore. PvP, raid, group, solo....every path will give you an uber character if you work on it. You can choose whichever path you like and build a great character from it
I had it for ages but i seem to play for a month then leave it and come back for a month. Im now 62 and hopefully will hit 70 by next week sometime.
I still enjoy playing with all my friends.
I've played WoW, off and on, for 2 years. I don't have a lvl 70. My highest is 63. The game is fun for me, but only in short bursts, about 2 months straight. Then, I have to go and do something else. I think this is due to the color/art scheme. It starts to get to me.
I am actually thinking about reactivating sometime this month. Started sounding fun again.
Take everyone's opinon with a grain of salt. To everyone, its a different experience. Some of the most fun I have, is fishing. I live in Arizona and don't get to fish very so often, so its relaxing. To some other ppl, its raiding, and still others its PvP.
Then, there are the people that hate WoW. They hate it for as many reasons as people like it.
Advice: Get a trial, preferably for free. Try it out, and make as many different characters/class as you can. See if any strike an interest.
[QUOTE="shannonMETAL"][QUOTE="HaRiZ420"]Its a waste of your time and money, IMO. shannonMETAL

....sh***y? no...waste of time? what game isnt?
yes buy world of warcraft
Video games are a waste of money and time in general unless you are programming games and making money. Hope you like soloing because at the first 50 levels people just level up as fast as they can and don't group any more but when they need to. And they made the game easier by taking out earlier level elites. (Very strong monsters.) So people group even less now. I just wanted to try raiding and group play but I don't have the mental energy to force myself through 50 levels of boredom. Also, never PVP until you hit the level cap. There are these people known as 'twinks' these people have a high level character and they make a new character known as a twink which is a character with the very best gear possible for their level. Think as them as elite players like elite boss monsters. Battle grounds are all #0-9 anyway so it's usually unfair.
i'll download it and give it a try then

Don't ever let anyone influence you about liking or disliking a game. Find out about WoW on your own, and then stick to what you feel.
There are so many for and against this game, due to its popularity and impact it has had, that you wont be able to get a solid yes/no answer her. But try it. Try it, and enjoy yourself:)
I just dont want to get it then not lik eit

I don't believe it.
He who has sin will sins again.
I don't trust Blizzard enought to try WoW again. If they don't enforce Raiding, they will enforce something distatefull anyway, this is their way of thinking. They enforce PvP now? Not any better! I want to solo/group, and I am sure there is at least 1 hps which you can't get by soloing/grouping, thereby I won't waste my time there. And even if 1 day they would meet this, I am sure they would find a way to shaft solo/group players...it isn't natural that I have to pinpoint and defend what is right from what is wrong. Such devs won't get my trust. I am supposed to be a cheerished player, not to underline how they steal my holy fire/focus/trust.
