i just recently got a new subscription to world of warcraft after not playing for a year

my character is level 37 and there is absoultly no-one around my level , there are like 3 or 4 thats it - not enough to do any instances with for sure

so if your thinking about getting world of warcraft and you aren't level 70 - your really out of luck

Ya man youre full of crap, I got a level 14 druid, 35 priest, 63 shammy, and a 23 warlock and they can always find a group lol.  World of Warcraft wont die for a very very very long time...it might lose a customer or two to Warhammer Online or Conan, but thats about it.

Just switch servers if you think its a problem.

If you are on a high pop or medium pop server that has been around for a while then yea, you are boned. Just buy some gold and pay a 60+ to powerlevel you for a few hours like everyone else does on those servers. If you want to somewhat actually play the game you need to be on a low or medium pop server that hasn't been around to long. However, as a whole I agree with you. WOW is dead now, TBC ruined everything, and the only people left in the game are chineese gold farmers, the super casuals who play maybe a few hours every weekend, and Blizzards mindless followers.

WoW has been dead for ages. I used to like it, but now its jsut full of high level horders who have the best equipment, and ruin the game for anyone who actually wants to trty it.

Go try a decent game like GuildWars (taltho its not technically a MMORPG) or ..well yeah just GW

Seeing the debate within this thread just reminds me why I never wanted to get started with MMORPGs. It just seems like developer has quite figured out how to make a game fun for beginners and advanced players and I really just don't want to get involved with that.

WoW was good the first 1.5 years.

The introduction of Reputation Grinding and the removal of 40-man raids with the Burnign Crusade has really hurt the game this past year.

The developers can't figure out anything new to implement except more reputation grinds/farming and raid dungeons that 85% of the game population will never be able to experience.

And raiding itself has become a chore because you have to farm food/potion materials for buffs to help you survive the newer dungeons.

It's no fun anymore. I stopped playing regularly about 3 wekes ago.

I logged on yesterday to see what they added in the new patch lol - it's amazing how right I was about them:

New Patch:

3 New major Reputations added to the game, each requiring several weeks of farmig nthe same exact mobs in the same exact areas. Only now they added DAILY TIME LIMITS lol

If Blizzard was smart they would make all the dungeons 5 manable. That way people could enjoy them. As for the loot that can easily be tinkered downward. People want to explore the whole game and not go through the frustrations of raiding.

True that!  You really need a good guild to do the 20+ man instances, and while its not tough to find a guild in that category sometimes they can be a bit demanding.

Also, I wish they would set up the instances like Scarlet Monastary, where its divided into 4 sections or something so that if you wanted to instance for 4 hours you can, but if you only got 40 minutes that works too.

I think too that WOW will die soon if Blizzard will not do something new at the game. Why? So it's a lack (as example) of the RAIDING to the city with the purpose... Yeah you can RAID the city and PVP with others... but there is no purpose just Honor points. I think a lot of WOW players agree that the game could be more funny when you can RAID the city and control it and when somebody control city they can get a lot of gold or smth secret key to the High boss and control till others will raid to war again to get that city or smth like that like a Lineage Castle attack. Also allways you have to fight with the mobs or enemies and there no space to investigate the world to find somth secret and useful especially if you are lower level. I think in that game is lack a life and purpose in the game... Yeah you can be a highest lv ant strongest hero also you can kill all boss and get best weapons.... but what after that? Yeah also you can  to Role... but it's have not a purpose and by time that leads to boring... So to be the best Hero on server is a purpose? :?

I think it's a time question... When ppl will see that the game haven't a purpose they will stop play because the game without purpose become boring especialy MMORP style. I stoped to play it was for me too monotonic... :(

You're nuts.  I have several non-lvl 70 characters (44 hunter, 22 mage, 7 pally)  and there are plenty of people on all of the servers I am on.

that's dynamic gaming!

WoW isn't dead, it's gaming levels. You got to keep up with your server or you are going to be left behind. It makes sense because after a server has been up for over a year or so, the diehards, casual gamers, and wife-not-arounds are all going finally hit endgame while anyone who lost interest is going to just stop playing leaving a world of level 60's (well now 70). So that means you have to either become a solo player, or part with all the economical success you have established in that server and change to a new server. good luck.

You cant find a group on your server in your level bracket, so WoW is dead?

L2level & get to Outlands.. Besides, I occasionally play my 40 Paladin, & while there isnt as many people in the areas for that bracket as there was pre-BC, theres still heaps & I can easily find a group, even in off-peak hours.

If you feel the game is dead, leave. I'll continue playing with the millions that still play.

scarlet monastery is the best set-up in the game.  most people don't have the 4-6 hours needed to do a raid.  let alone "IF" they find a good guild that does end game raids.  another thing to, is just being 70 isn't good enough, you have to have the gear to go with it.  PVP will never be fun for casuals who don't have the time needed to get all the epics in the game.  i personally have fun playing this game a few hours a week and that's about it.  once something better comes along i wouldn't hesitate to leave the game.  the biggest problem that i see with WoW is that they make the best stuff unattainable for casual style players.  somebody else mentioned just buying gold to have a high lvl power lvl you, well if you get caught buying gold then you get banned and your real life money just went down the drain.  something that i think would help this game is if they enabled looping macros.  it would do 2 things, let people level faster, and raise supply of mats and subsequently lowering the prices of certain things and making the economy more manageable for players that don't have 50gadzillion gold.

If you are on a high pop or medium pop server that has been around for a while then yea, you are boned. Just buy some gold and pay a 60+ to powerlevel you for a few hours like everyone else does on those servers. Cerza

That is disgusting. My friends buys gold and characters, and I think he's somewhat sick for it.

EDIT: And WoW has never been alive. It's always been a dead game, and always will be. To me atleast.

It is sick, but it's the truth. Go on youtube, you can see videos of people doing it. Thanks to the expansion once you can go into outland getting gold is a joke. RMT is a major problem and ruins online games. No you won't get caught partaking in the practice because of how these people work. If people did get caught the practice would have been stopped by now and yet it continues. Yea, I know people that do it too. Practically everyone I knew that played, back when I played, partook in RMT and still do. I hate it and it's one of the many reasons I left the game back in Feb. However, I'm not gonna sweep it under the rug and pretend it's not there and pretend that Blizz is doing their job and getting rid of it, because that would be untruthful. I'm just saying it like it is.

Also, TBC is not dynamic gaming. EQ had like 4 or 5 consecutive expansions that were like TBC, and EQ is dead now. Gee, I wonder why.

WoW lacks variety but it is a solid game. For most people I've met who they can handle about three months of consistent play before they get sick of it. It's not a bad game and it's certainly not dead or dying, but people WILL get sick of it eventually. Some people are fine with the same-old-same-old gameplay of WoW, but it will die down sooner or later (probably later). With the new MMOs coming out that seem to have some interesting differences from WoW maybe people will choose the alternative. I'd bet that there is a gigantic chunk of the WoW population that only plays because there isn't any other MMO for them to play.

I lost all interest in the game when they introduced reputation grinding.  Regardless of where you're grinding the reputation, it takes too damn long, and even then you still have to pay gold for the sh**.  People with no lives excel too much in the game.  The game is gimped.
