Hey everyone, I just got a new PC, and I love it, but I downloaded WoW on my old Mac and the download took forever so I don't want to download it again. So I decided to buy the Cataclysm disk. Here is my question: I own Burning Crusade, and WotLK, but they were downloaded on my other computer, does this mean when I buy cataclysm I have to download the others? Does cataclysm come with WotLK and BC? Thanks
Your going to either need to download the client or install each disk. The full game doesnt come on the expansion disks, but the client installs the game and both current expansions. Cataclysm probably wont be out for awhile, im guessing around christmas.
WoW is 100% free, you can download it anytime, anywhere on any computer, a subscription will cost you money though, and upgrading your account will require the use of CD keys, meaning that you can go to WoWs website right now and download WoW + TBC + WOTLK for free, but you won't be able to play WoW without a sub or a CD key (Required to create an account), and you won't be able to take advantage of expansion stuff without upgrading your account using the expansion CD keys (Requiring you to purchase them). So if you have a WoW account right now that is already upgraded to BC and WOTLK you can go to WoWs website and D/L WoW at no charge.

On my GF's terrible connection I D/Led WoW + BC + WOTLK and installed all patches (About 2 patches ago) in about 6 hours, not a big deal. That's not a terrible connection at all. around 15GB in 6 hours is nothing to laugh at.

Even if you had the discs for each expansion, you'd still need to download several gigabytes worth of updates and new content. Theres no real way to go around it. Leave it overnight to download.

You only need to download about 2.5GB of patches if you have all the discs.
Dude download it, Trust me installing trough cds allmost every time fails in some way. I dont know why i never menaged to install it right, maybe cause its so many cds and one is bound to be damaged or something. With download it allways works perfect.
