So I've been thinking of buying dc universe and cancelling my wow account for a few month and get dc instead. What does everyone else think?

DC Universe is garbage imo, couldn't stand it for more than two hours, sure it's a mmo and you have to give it some time before you judge/get into it, but it's absolutely pathetic. It'd be nice to have a decent superhero MMO with a decent amount of content and variety.

Why what's wrong with it exactly?

DCUO doesn't even feel like an MMO because of the small number of maps and way abilities are activated. It's more like a bad action God of War with capes kind of game. If you've been playing WoW for a long time and want something to take it's place, DC isn't it. It won't last you that long. I recommend trying out Champions Online if the superhero mmo interests you. I didn't like it, but a lot seem to. Plus, it's free. There's also City of Heroes which is supposed to be going free later this year. I liked it a lot and played for a few years. It's not an especially deep game, and feels mostly like a long series of randomized enclosed missions, but the powers and fast pace made it fun. If you want a more fantasy mmo, you might want to wait for Guild Wars 2, which should be pretty popular.

I agree with DanielDust on this one. I don't think it's garbage...but it really isn't what I was expecting. It would have been great as a SP Smash Them Up, but as an MMO it's too repetitive and you get bored of it after a few hours. Get the king of MMOs instead...

WoW mate.... But if you like fantasy, give Lord of the Rings Online a go... a very good crafted MMO.

I've been playing that for 4 years and I'd like a change of scenery. I might look into LOTR online actually

Please do...I played it for a year when it was subscription based (it's Free 2 Play now).

It's the first MMO (and the only one I've played so far) where the World actually feels alive.

It's not, but it certainly is better than DC Universe as for the but that's not much since the game is the worst experience I had in the last 2 months and the worst MMO I played after DCU and I experience some awkward free unique MMOs. Not even CoH lives up to such expectations and it's the only superhero MMO worth mentioning, I asked lots of veterans and a lot of people describe the game as lacking. I'm not one to make lots of characters (I'm actually going for a *close* to 100% completion of WoW, it'll take a lot of dailies, questing and time to do it enough to not be able to make many alt just for the sake of making them and yes I know most think you can't finish a MMO) and I have my hands full with WoW on one character even if technically I reached the end, but actually I've a long time till I exhaust everything in the game and go exclusively on PvE and PvP, that is not the case withCoH Online, everyone still playing recommends to avoid it, as a WoW player, because it lacks content, severely, it's never good to hear people enjoying a certain game but complaining they have nothing to do after making tons of characters for every archtype and every class combination possible. I'd recommend Runescape over this pile of garbage (DCU, CO) any day, but Runescpae doesn't exist, so yeah.

that's strange, considering I have 3 characters and there's always something to do for me. Then again I've always thought WOW was one of the most overrated mmo's out there.

Then again maybe I just enjoy the freedom City of heroes gives me seeing as there are no actual C L A S S E S unless you want one.

And CO is hardly garbage, i have yet to see any mmo offer as much freedom as that game
