Worst game ending ever?

You have to admit that despite how good a game might be, sometimes the endings just suck. After spending in some cases 25+ hours in gaming heaven you then reach the final level/boss fight or whatever and the big dramatic conclusion you have been working towards ..........then...................nothing

Personally my nominations go to Far Cry and Doom3:Resurrection of Evil.

In both instances the final level is probably the most fun, end then the ending is just completely anti-climactic. But that's me. :|

Whoa whoa, Crysis and Bio-shock dont fit in this list. Those games were great and had great endings. Bio-shock especially. Bio-shocks only got a crappy ending if u harvest little sisters n00bs.

But a game ending i didnt like was prolly...ahh...ya prolly assassins creed. Left too many united ends, i wouldnt of minded a few undone things but there were too many in assassins creed which left a lot of room for a sequel which im sure will be awesome.

If a great game has a bad ending, its not all bad because it could mean there's a sequel ahead. lol

Well considering its going to be a trilogy Assassins Creed has a good ending.

I think Halo 2 walks away with that award quite easily.Fuzzy_Bear123

That ending was so peculiar that no logic reasoning could explain it.

It is however a great game mind you.

Crysis and Assassin's Creed.

They felt like excuses for a sequel if the game does well. Even if the game does do well, it still doesn't change how the endings felt halfassed.

Bioshock's endings were also especially lame.

I think the Bioshock endings are ok and the Assasin's Creed ending made me mad (like "WTF is up with this stuff on the wall?" Desmond just brabbles some unimportant stuff and the credits roll... Terrible D: )

But the probably worst ending IMO is the Halo 2 ending (oh god i didn't want to wait a few years till i could "finish the fight")

And CoD4 had one of the best endings ever!

COD4's ending was the worst of those ... lol slo motion. I have to disagree about Bioshock though I loved the ending and theres two different ones.

The worst ending I've ever seen is Postal 2.

HL2 was a question-giver ending, but I hated the Halo 3 ending, not knowing what's going to happen, or if there will be another game to explain it, probably not.MorganFreeBear

Question-giver ending? Sorry, but no. It was cute the first time in HL 1, but pulling that same trick for a second time just made me roll my eyes.

It depends on what you mean by ending? A lot of games seem to be moving away from cinematic endings and having a controled finish. Hell, I think shooting a nuke at a giant alien ship and watching it crash into a carrier is one freaking awesome ending (rather than watching a cinematic). I didn't like crysis in general, but it had a few epic moments.

Bioshock's ending was decent, but you see it coming from 100000miles away.

CoD4 is similar to crysis. Epic controled ending rather than cinematic. Also the epilogue.

I think games are getting much better endings, but the story development is worse and the games are getting shorter and shorter.

i wouldnt say the worse but my most recent one is STALKER, it had a dissapointing ending. SPOILER ALERT!!!! he just wished to be rich, and the monolith used the illusion of the building falling down ontop of him. like it was raining gold.... that was very disapointing, the game was excellent though.Lach0121

That wasn't the ending. The game has multiple endings and you got the bad ending.

ahh so i have to find the secret door then cause i did every quest but that one... so ill load up the end and find that secret door... cause i did everything else...

COD4's ending was the worst of those .

I loved the ending. It was better than any other previous CoD game ending. It was very tense, dramatic, and emotional. Exactly what IW does best. Much better than an uber-godlike boss fight ending.

I would say Kharkov was the best finale in the CoD series.

mmorpgs...those games have no ending.

Assassin's Creed.

It just all of a sudden ends. Go through a really repetitive experience for an ending like that? It's frustrating.

Every Game Ive ever enjoyed... I just hate how Im having hours of fun getting to know the characters then it ends...

Crysis and HL2 both have some form of cliff hanger so i can't say they are bad. Bioshock had one of the most suprising and symbolic endings in any game i have played. (i don't mean the literal ending but getting more towards the end).

I think Oblivions ending was kind of a let down though.

I agree with your list, except for Hl2 since the game got episodic sequels.

The worst was Assassin creed, I dunno why they even bothered to do that stupid end. The whole story was unclear, barely holded together by some weaks interlude bethween your session in the past, and will not make me buy the second one only to see wth is going on in the script-writter mind. I am fairly sure the sequel will be another cheap watered down story to make you buy the next sequel and give to ubi soft another bag full of $.
