I've got a 22 inch LCD acer monitor right now and its served me well for the 4 or so years that I've had it but recently the stand's broken leaving it slightly crooked and I'm a bit annoyed at its lack of HDMI ports. The picture quality seems to be waning a bit with the years as well.

I was wondering if upgrading to a monitor with an LED backlight of similar size would make a big difference in the picture quality? And if so, could I get some reccomendations? Around $100-$200 dollars.

Only thing I don't like is that it's 1080p at 24in, if I were to get another 24in monitor I'd get a 1200p (1920x1200) monitor. The next question to ask when looking for a monitor is the display technology, do you want to spend the extra on an IPS panel with improved color reproduction and no color shift at (reasonable) viewing angles. Or do you want a 120hz TN monitor that can maybe display games a little smoother, at the expense of color reproduction.

There is no point buying a 60hz TN panel these days when IPS is so cheap.

If you feel IPS is too slow get a 120hz TN.

You might be fooling yourself in believing that the picture quality is getting worse. Can't say I've experienced it on any monitor my friends or I have used over the years.

But that's over his budget unless you get once used, and even that's rare.D=

Ah didn't see the budget, then I agree the monitor you posted is a pretty good buy.
