I wouldn't pay more than $30 for just vanilla. The B2K maps really rounded out the whole experiance.

Then I would. It's a good deal for that price. The B2K pack is going to be like 10-15 pounds too. You can get it seperate.

I would get BF3 for that price, and then see if you enjoy it. If you really enjoy it, save up and get the premium as then you won't have to worry about DLC in the future.

Is the B2K pack the old BF2 maps? I used to play a lot of BF2 so I should get the game and this expansion and that will be enough to experience the game for now?

For £16 then definitely. The vanilla maps have Caspian border which is the best map in te whole game and possibly the best BF map ever and I usually play that map exclusively.

No. Besides Firestorm the Karkand pack are the only good maps.

Wrong. Kargh Island, Caspian Border, and Terhan Highway are all good.

The smaller maps are also great for smaller amounts of players.

Yeah you should be good. The close quarters expansion is a bit ridiculous as well, it's basically COD with a different name. You can random spawn every time so often you will spawn right behind enemies (and sometimes people spawn right behind you). Plus it's just got that spawn, kill, die, repeat formula instead of having any real tactics involved. So you're not missing much.

Yeah, B2K are the classic maps from BF2. Karkand, Wake Island (which is actually a BF series classic since 1942), Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. You also get new guns that are really fun to use (though the auto shottie has been too nerfed to justify the assignment requirements you need to unlock it).

The main maps are still the most played and there are many good ones (caspian, kharg, firestorm, bazaar, canal), plus you get coop, rush, single player. It's not short on value that is for sure.

As long as you don't pay full price for it, it's worth it. This is one reason I hate DLCs, they just take the value of an original right down...

This but outside of those most of the other maps just suck, and the rush gamemode was somewhat ruined
