Good evening gentlemen, while many of you have taken to the streets in protest to MS not releasing big Al - similar to the bread riots of Russia - I would like to ask the remainding people whether I would like Dead Space or not.

I have heard a lot of good things about this game. It is only selling for a mere $49 rubles here as well.

Would I like this game?

I have heard it is quite repetitive. Is this true? I dont think we want to go through that FEAR tomfoolery again. I am still receiving dangerous looking letters from the review I wrote of that. Though I suspect this could have more to do with my tax infridgements ahem.

I have also heard from a gentlemen on Xfire that after you finish the game you unlock a special suit which is actually a pinstripe suit which can then be worn to the main characters formal party following the dramatic conclusion of the game!! I would like to know more about this suit and whether you can customise it, so you can wear a pink shirt if you like!!

Also, how scary is the game on the boogey man metre: Many of you may remember the time that I made a thread asking about how scary Oblivion was for a uhh friend of mine ahem yes lol. I get scared very easily, by games and people sending me mean emails on GS, so I'd like to know!!

Finally: is it true that Alan Wake was not so much inspired by Twin Peaks, but by the song Wake Up by Hilary Duff...She is actually a gamer y'know? Bogs himself will tell you from experience that she played a strong role in The Sims 2: Pets!!

Just listen to the lyrics: "I know I make mistakes, I'm living life day to day, It's never really easy but it's ok, Wake Up Wake Up, On a Saturday night"

She expresses the same guilt as the character Alan Wake, finding it difficult to get up in the morning. The Saturday night reference may also be a reflection of the games episodic nature and day/night cycle!! Think about it!!

Coincidence?! I think not!!

Dead Space is a fantastic game. Great tense atmosphere, unique combat mechanics, unlockables for replay value, great graphics and better sound. Get it...and never post another picture of Hillary Duff here again. You have been warned.

its a good game, and its damn scary to boot...the only thing that got repetitive for me was how the scares all turned out to be the same...walk past some vents, or some dead bodies, and one of them WILL have a Necromorph inside it.

Just watch 300 before, because the black dude is the persian emissary that gets kicked in the well.

Nice story too. A proper System Shock successor.

My guess is that if you like Re4-5 you might like Dead Space as well. I found it scary, it's also nice looking while running butter smooth, but damn repetitive, couldn't finish it ..yet anyway.

Dead Space is great. I personally never found it repetitive, and I've played through it three times :P.

Yes, just play through on the hardest setting possible. Also, you shouldn't play in large segments. The longer you play, the less likely it is that you will be scared of the next enemy.

Pretty much this. It's not even that scary, and the gameplay is boring. Third person perspective is one of the things that kill it, IMO. Also it's pretty damn casual, you just hold control and the game shows you EXACTLY where you need to go. I would not recommend it to anyone.

First person perspective would have ruined it, mostly because of the clunky movement. I love Isaac's behaviour - he's not just a puppet that you control, he's got a lot of subtle gestures. The awesome (groundbreaking?) interface would've been impossible in first person. And it wouldn't have been so cinematic, at times it feels like an interactive movie. The vacuum sequences would be really boring, a lot of their charm comes from seeing a creature's limb right over your shoulder.

As for that laser guide - it fits the game world perfectly, and you don't even have to use it. That's why you have a totally awesome interactive 3D map8)

It's better than Resident Evil IMO. At least the gunplay was original here.

It was a good horror game but honestly too scary and dipressing for me and I didn't like the ending

However it is a very good game and i generally don't like horror games but i still bought this one and enjoyed it for a time being

the good points are:

1.Altough graphics are not that bad but it is still a very light game on your c.A very good support for hardware just like half life 2

2.Horror throughout ,some very special scary moments

3.the difficulty seems to be increasing and gameplay is dynamic
