the more i consider it, the more i like the idea.

Is it possible to build a decent gaming laptop that will run 2010 games on medium settings with a budget of no more then $500 dollars?

I honost to God do not know where to begin, there are so many different versions of graphics cards (i am a fan of Nvidia as i have not run into problems with them, just like how i like SeaGate and Logitech).

would greatly appreciate the help from the computer tech guru's on here.

500$ wont do it at all. you need at least 800$, and thats assuming you live in the USA. the idea looks "cool" you know what i mean. but in reality its not that cool or realistic.

Yes that would be a much easier to reach goal. Is there anything that you would be able to reuse? Like a monitor, keyboard & mouse, harddrive, cd drive, etc...

Well im going to use my 19 inch HDTV through HDMI. The thing is i havnt built it yet due to money shortage but im gaining the parts over an extended time which is driving me nuts. Oh and add an OS. You should dual boot linux and win7. I have also done alot of research on these parts and how they work together. And i have found that this pc will be quite good.

Yes, it's possible. But considering that prebuilts rival DIY laptops in terms of price vs. performance nowadays, I hardly consider it worthwhile.

Wow, then depending on resolution if you want to hook it up to that tv you might want to get a 5850 so you can have good frame rate.
