well since your positng this here I assume you want to play games with it?

It has an integrated graphics card which will be nothing but problems for gaming. Also the 3 gigs of memory is good but I didn't see what its latencies or speed was. That matters too and for a $1000 laptop the memory might bottle neck you too. The processor is fine though.

It doesn't appear to have integrated graphics, it looks like it has a NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS, which according to http://laptoping.com/nvidia-geforce-9500m-gs-9300m-g.html is a good 512 MB graphics card. It's fine

Sorry. Integrated is the wrong word. My fault.

Still my point stands though. The M designation is a mobile chip and pretty weak. If you look on most games under supported graphics cards they almost always specifically exclude the m designated cards.

To give you and idea, this chip has 32 stream processors operating at 900 mhz compared to over 112 for an 8800gt (probably the mid level standard for gaming cards right now) operating at 1500 mhz

Well I'm not trying to buid itfor gaming, I just want a good brand laptop that could play games. Do they even make laptop video cards that arent mobile designated? Anyways, what would you suggest?

Oh well if its not going to be a big gaming computer then it should be fine. Asus is a great and well respected company. They stand behind their products. They do make cards that are not laptop designated but its a considerable price jump. You'll be able to play most games right now but long term it just won't be a very powerful machine.
