Best guess 3 years, if you overclock.

people are using 5 years old computers all the time, they are usually old people that play suduko and freecell.

it may last five physical years, but if it probably will last about 3 years for gamingĀ

i think the RAM and the HD might last. youĀ will have to upgrade the CPU and video card unless you do some overclocking like Axed saidĀ Ā

I've had my 7800gt since it came out which was about a year and a half ago about.

It's still going. It runs games on high, but the frame rates aren't as nice anymore. So I'm guessing with more graphical advancements in games it will be on the medium end. I'm alreay sick of it and waiting for the 8900GTX to upgrade. lol

That'sĀ basically aĀ top of the line PC. You should be able to get at least 3-4 years out of it, maybe more if you overclock or don't mind tweaking and lowering settings. Until a few months ago I was still using a P4 2.8Ā NorthwoodĀ with an X800Pro that I originally built back in 2003.

Dell? Get Vista Home Premium, 2GBs of RAM, and a smaller hard drive. Dell overprices hard drives, and you could just buy your own (for MUCH cheaper) and install it yourself.
