Well it occured to me that if you buy a used computer game from someone, they COULD have written the CD key down somewhere and you'd never know...which is gonna be a hassle if you want to play online. There are some really good deals on craigslist tho

It depends. If it is newer it will need a unique key, so no. However if your going an old game or non-steam game perhaps you could buy it. I personally think your better off buying a new copy at full price for any game because you'll never know who copied the key or registered it and now you can't play.

You generally shouldn't buy any multiplayer/online game used.

Single player games are a different matter though.

Don't you need a CD key for an account though?

I'd stick with Amazon/Ebay. If you don't get a working legal game you can dispute it and get your money back.

Sure. I normally don't play online and as long as the CD is not corrupt, i'll bite.
