I was recently watching X-Play, and they were hosting their WoW: Burning Crusade episode. It did get me pretty convinced, but I didn't want to abandon my current PC game, Halo: Combat Evolved. Should I, or get something else?

If you can see yourself playing a game that requires you to pay to play and has you constantly doing the same repetitive actions over and over and over and over and over and over....(I think you get the idea) again - then WoW just might be the game for you.
If you enjoy blasting your way through a decent story line (Halo: Combat Evolved is decent story-wise) and some decent action, then stick with Halo. Don't bother with Halo 2 - major let down. Also it requires Windows Vista and a DX10 card to play...but I hear there's a way to play Halo 2 via Windows XP - but I don't know how nor do I care how.
Personally, I'd avoide WoW, but that's just because I don't care for it. I'd rather play through Halo: CE again then to sit and grind away on WoW (or any MMO for that matter).
WoW is basically selling you life to Blizzard (I think it's in the EULA somewhere :P)
If you're looking at WoW, you should consider giving Guild Wars a glance. It might not make everyone happy, but I have to say that so far I am satisfied with it.
What's more, Guild Wars is a game that doesn't ask for continuous commitment, so you'll have time to play Halo CE too.
BTW, I think Unreal Tournament 2004 is a bit more fun that Halo multiplayer wise.
Get the Orange Box, or get prepared for Gears of War or almost anything that has been released this past week, or is soon to be released in the next upcoming weeks.
There are some great games that just came out and that are about too. Mostly all of them are far superior to either one of the games you mentioned.

No, I wouldn't play any of those boring games. :?
OK, Halo is alright though.
Why not play both?
Hell, I often play Team Fortress Classic, WoW, Counterstrike, and BF2142 all in one day.
If you do play WoW, remember to play it in moderation. Its taken me over two years to get to level 65, I only play about 10 hours a week, but it is freaking fun.
