Would you recommend Dead Island?

It's on sale on Green Man Gaming right now and I have always been intrested. The gameplay looks really fun however the reviews don't reflect that.

I am looking for some opinions on it. So to anyone who has played it, Is Dead Island worth a purchase?

It,s a great sp/co-op game,i would recommened the dead island helper tool as it makes tweaking the game that much easier.

Yes, but only with friends. Alone it feels much more repetitive in its tasks and at lower levels the zombies when alone can be overwhelming, while the death system is also really dumb (you just respawn with less cash 5 feet away).

Even alone though its still rather good, but not NEARLY on the level of other solo zombie games or RPG games. Best with friends, and worth a buy.

Would have to think about it then, considering my friends aren't PC gamers.

You could always find some strangers, the absolute best way to play is with some friends all playing the different characters. It meshes best with the story and the different abilities are damn useful, with one guy as the lockpicker and scavenger, another as the dedicated tank with lots of health and damage, etc.
