Didn't really have much interest in the game but after reading several good coments about its depth, I'm thinking about checking it out. I dont really play RTS's that much, the only RTS's in my collection are C&C:TB, WCIII, and COH. I really like games like HL2, CSS, Doom 3, Crysis, COD4. You guys think that I should pick this one up or a little too slow paced for my taste?

as much as i would encourage everyone to check this game out, it might not be for you. Its a pretty slow game, more along the lines of Civilization or Galactic Civilizations 2. it takes quite a bit of time to play a game, even on small maps.

Not to the typical FPS player, it requires patient and a lot of thinking to become good at the game. Unless you are willing to play something totally different than the RTS you listed above, this game may not be for you. But if you are willing to be open minded and try something new(you seem to have read stuff that sounds interesting to you) it should definitely be worth the purchase.

If you are expecting something fast paced look elsewhere. Quite a bit of people have already expressed their disappointment with the game because it's too slow to them. I like it though.

I don't mind slow games, but there has to be an epic end game. If I don't see planet killers or nukes that destory the sun... I will be disappointed. I wish someone would post a video of these "endgame" ships that each race can build. I heard you start out with a capital ship (which is kind of a disappointment). I always enjoy smashing weaker forces with more than what is needed.

How is starting out with a capital ship a disappointment? Play the game before making such judgements because capital ships are the backbones of your fleets, they are very important and it is a good thing you start out with one.

Each race has a superweapon that they can build, I haven't experienced them yet but one is the novaliath cannon and it can destroy planets across solar systems. Zerging or rushing will get you nowhere in this game so beware.

Yeah, capital ships in Sins are like the heroes in Warcraft 3.

It was my opinion that I like building up from crappy small ships to superior large ships. I haven't bought the game and I didn't, by any means, tell the OP not to buy it. I just said I was disappointed that you start out with one of the best ships in the game and don't really work to earn it =/

There is a super-unit that eats planets.

Yeah, I'm another interested FPS gamer, and I'm truly intrigued by this game. What reviews I've read are absolutely shining, and it's getting massive amounts of "buy it or I'll kill you" from the community as well. I'm really itching for a demo or a trial or something.

I haven't really played anything that could be said to have slow pacing (some perhaps come close), but I would really like to try and expand my, ah, horizons where gaming in general is concerned.

The multiplayer sounds really intimidating though. Usually I'm playing CSS or UT or TF2 or etc. A single online game that can last for hours on end sounds somewhat disturbing (despite the save system), but then again I doubt I have anywhere nearing the appropriate skill set to take on most of the other players out there, nor are any of my gaming buddies really into these sort of games.

I still intend to try it out. Here's hoping for a demo.
