If it was compatible, but its not going to happen. Not enough room on the market.Guiltfeeder566They are researching such a system and it has qite a lot of room. They want to make an OS that is on the web. So you just have a pocket PC, that is very small and the hardware is limited and all you have is just a small useful memory a touchscreen, graphical chip and wireless lan and that's all, you connect through free hot spots etc and it's all there, free applications made by google, emails, desktop, all and it takes absolutely no space. The only problem is that wireless internet isn't developed enough for it to be a good investment, yet.
So what if it was better than windows? It won't run windows software, at least not with any sort of reliability. And that is enough to say no for most people. I would install it to check it out. I wouldn't use it.
Except if it's 10x better all software would be made on it then.So what if it was better than windows? It won't run windows software, at least not with any sort of reliability. And that is enough to say no for most people. I would install it to check it out. I wouldn't use it.

Nope... Supplanting MS OS monopoly will take a lot more than techical superiority. Not even a google behind it will do it.
[QUOTE="YoZbaNaToR"]I don't understand how this would end up in the PC & Mac Games forum, but I'll answer anyway: Firefox.

Because OS's are software that run PC and Mac gaming.
Then I refrain from using randomness and say that it all depends. Microsoft and Google are two giants currently (and previously) waging a war.
I would find that if Google makes its OS, and decides to attract gamers, then the whole issue will come with advantages and disadvantages, but it'll be all the better for gamers. Microsoft will have to retaliate and make more games while Google tries to conquer parts of the gaming industry by sacking good developers and companies. We'll find more PC games rushing into the market. Some will have the "Games for Windows" logo, and others "Games for X (Google's OS)" logo, for example. The gaming industry no doubt makes millions upon millions. I don't think Google will decide to ignore this fact and refrain from opening this new battle front with Microsoft. It'll only be the gamers/customer's decision whether to use Google's or Microsoft's OS.

I personally prefer Firefox 3, although gmail is great. I would definitely look in to a Google OS, though, although I would probably stick with Vista.
