wow 3.3.x to 4.0.0 patch na stage 2

So the new World of Warcraft patch is out updating the game to 4.0 AND ITS 4GB !! , Blizzard says its downloading files you will need in the future, i'm thinking we wont even need the cata install disc after this huge patch.I also hear that the is going to be more stages of this and it could be upto 16gb. also 4.0.0 is live on the PTR

Still, they're doing it all over, the world isn't made for flying right now, alot of the buildings etc. are just ilussions. I can't really explain it but they did the same with places you can't reach as you do with a skybox.

... I am open to what ones that is.. I have been playing MMO's since the original Everquest.. I can't think of a single one who completely redid continents of areas.. Instead they usually just go the typicall MMO expansion style.. New expansion adds new stuff, old stuff becomes outdated and pretty much unused.

edit: the reason for the patch size is because it contains the whole new maps. The reason this is done in a patch instead of on the Cataclysm disk is pretty simple. People who don't have Cataclysm need the files.

Anyhow im not a fan of WOws HUGE patches and ideally more of this should be done with the install of the new WOW expansion. On the other hand Blizz are probably adding features and circumstances to the already existing world to make the change over more seamless. Great game one of the best im tempted VERY tempted to play it again. Keldorn is not dead yet.

On a more serious note. I am torn. I think revamping all the old world seems lazy, especially with the new versions of old instances, which they have to put almost no effort into except giving the mobs new abilities. On the other hand, it looks like they are putting a huge amount of work into it and it actually gives you a reason to experience the leveling content. Is WoW perfect? No, far from it, it has actually gone down hill IMO. But it is a fairly good game and with the huge server populations and cross-realm stuff it makes grouping and social play a lot easier than anything else out there. I haven't decided if I am going to get Cataclysm as I quit about 6 months ago, my friend who stopped playing just before WotLK says he want to level a new character in Cataclysm so I just might.SerOlmy

It's worth another try, I quit the game for about a year after getting bored with it, then came back and enjoyed it again. I hear they're making Cataclysm more like pre-TBC too, harder to get epics, proper elites and stuff.

WoW is the best MMO ever made. I can look through rose-tinted goggles and say that Star Wars Galaxies Pre NGE was the best MMO ever, but I would be lying. No MMO comes close to offering the content, polish, or relative stability that WoW has. The game is pretty deep and has super hard raids as well as easier ones to let people with less time see content. So my question to you is, why do you hate WoW so much? Did you play it for thousands of hours and burn out and suddenly decide that you hate it? Or do you just not know what you are talking about and troll for the sake of trolling?
