What makes you think private servers are illegal? They can be illegal to make a Public server, but its not illegal to play on one. That being said, its still morally wrong to take money out of Blizzards pockets.hooded1man

Stupiest misconception ever. Private servers are not illegal at all if they are non-profit. (as in, they dont charge you to play on them). Private servers keep afloat through donations and other gimmicks.

this is true. thats why blizzard hasnt gone after the private servers yet. and although it pains me to pay 15 bucks a month to play wow its worth the lag free,scripted instances and practically no bugs.

From the WoW ToU Agreement that EVERYBODY has to agree to in order to play the Game:

1. Only Blizzard or its licensees have the right to host the Game. You may not host or provide matchmaking services for the Game, or intercept, emulate or redirect the proprietary communication protocols used by Blizzard in connection with the Program, regardless of the method used to do so. Such prohibited methods may include, but are not limited to, protocol emulation, reverse engineering, modifying the Program, adding unauthorized components to the Program, or using a packet sniffer while the Program is running.

What about all of the other countries that pirate copy righted material? You know in Canada its perfectly legal to download all copy righted material.
