or did gamespot really lose some credibility when they said that FC:Instincts for Xbox was better than FC for PC? i mean... i love gamespot, and they always give good reviews, but FC:Instincts felt like a generic shooter... from the visuals, to the repetitive enemies, to the soundtrack... and i played the 360 version, which was ''enhanced''. it looks atrocious.. PC version looks WAY better, and plays better too.

I think if you went through and played all the games gamespot has reviewed, you'd find a bunch you didn't agree with, reviews are very subjective and opinionated. While they can be a basis of how you think a game is you can't think of it as the end all be all of a game, what I'm trying to say is they aren't wrong because they disagree with you. Regardless, I kinda agree with you about FC on the PC being better, Instincts left quite a bit to be desired. In short, maybe they were wrong - in our eyes - but it doesn't really make them "lose some credibility" the only way they could that is if they didn't even play the games. :P

Well Gamespot loves consoles... I wonder what Oblivion would have gotten if it didn't come out for the X360 at the same time... probably something close to 8.

When they review a game they don't compare it to PC GAMES, they compare it to games on already on that system and on that system only. Now stop be hermits ....

edit your post please. If you mean that they review based on games already out on the same system, why do sports and platform ports get lower scores on PC yet they are rare?

In the end, a review is just some guys opinion. I never base my purchases on reviews, even though I like to read them. Anyways, the reviewer simply felt FC: Instincts for the Xbox was better than FC for the PC. Can't blame the guy for having an opinion you know...

Zero9167 is right. They review games based on whats available for that system. So PC counterpart generaly getting a lower score is a good thing because it shows theres been better things for the PC. Shooter counterparts never quite get the same score because they have to compete with things like HalfLife 2 and so on.
