A better comparison would be Warcraft 3 vs Starcraft 2. Both are RTS games, so you can easily compare them. Warcraft 3 is traditional fantasy while Starcraft 2 is sci-fi. Warcraft 3 has small-scale armies with RPG mechanics (level up heroes) while Starcraft 2 is more classic withlargearmies and no heroes.Both have great campaigns and good multiplayer. Warcraft 3 is not as balanced competitively as Starcraft 2, but still good enough for the average player.
The only thing that can be compared between WoW and SC2 is the setting. Some people don't like traditional fantasy, so they would like SC2's setting more. Gameplay can't really be compared though. Everyone will have a different definition of "fun"; they prefer one over the other.
Both games are different... people already spoke about this in the thread so I'm not gonna regurgitate the same statements. I personally prefer the StarCraft universe. I'm sorta tired of Medieval-themed entertainment (games/books/shows (except Game of Thrones))
Completely different genres and types of games. Anyway. I love RTS games, so I like SC2. As for WoW, I hate it with a passion for bringing the casuals and destroying the MMORPG genre.
I don't think one is better than the other, but they bring different things to the table. Unless you are really competitive, Starcraft 2 is hard to enjoy online because there are so many people (Korea especially), that play nothing but Starcraft 2 and are hardcore about it. Not to say you can't find a fair match online, but it can be much more frustrating than WoW in that regard. I am not that hardcore about SC2, so I actually just play the campaign and against AI. Besides, my internet is only 48-56kbps.
Sorry, lemme rephrase the question: which do you prefer? (It's a question of total opinionative)

Sorry, it still doesn't make sense. If someone prefers WoW because they prefer MMO's, it doesn't make it a better game. You are not going to get a definitive answer comparing oranges to lemons.
