I live in the UK and want WOW, how much is the monthly charge?

ALSO - I am mainly a 360 gamer, and am seriously considering FFXI or PSU. How much better is this game than those two, and what sort of price am i looking at to get up and running. Expansion packs etc etc.

And finally -

Will my pc run this game well?

SPECS:

AMD Athlon 3800+ (single core)

Geforce 7600GT 256MB

80GB HDD 2mb cache

1GB DDR400

Windows XP SP2

Thanks in advance for the replys!

your PC is way over the system requirements....u can definetely handle WoW

as for payments, there r three plans:

1 month for 14.99

3 months for 13.99/month

6 months for 12.99/month

you have to pay all the money up front for the 3 and 6 months subscriptions

as for the 360, idk about PSU, but i heard that the 360 version of FFXI wasnt as good as the PS2 and PC versions

Its 14.99 euro's not pounds. think its about £8 per month. You can get the game and expansion for under £40. As for how does it compare to those other games you mentioned, well to be honest wow is in a completely different league in my honest opinion. Try it, i'm pretty sure you will love it, 8.5 million people agree. One word of warning though, it could take over your life, trust me i know lol.

nah....it was american $...sry

WoW is very easy to update....if you have xfire, it automatically dls patches, otherwise the game will dl new patches when you log in

Burning Crusade is the game's only expansion, but it isnt required to play WoW

one sentence: It is worth the money.

WOW was my 1st ever mmorpg. i tried others since and always go back. Its so easy to play, you can solo, group, raid, it really does cater for so many different people. Even my wife loves it. There is only one expansion out at the moment so you don't have to worry too much about that.

Why not read reviews of both games here on gamespot. I think that would help you. Of course i'm very biased but i do think to choose ff over wow is a mistake. WoW pretty much offers all ff does and more and is a far better game on its own. Your choice though my friend and i hope you have fun whichever you choose.

PSU is apparently a pretty poor game, I'd stick with WoW.

Fortunately, you shouldn't need to actually buy Burning Crusade when you start playing, it's not really worth it until you're in the high 50s.

Here's a question: why do people love this game so much and get addicted and become lifeless zombies with no friends because of this mediocre game???

PSU is terrible. The graphics are extremely dated and it plays like Guild Wars, but has a monthly fee. Final Fantasy XI is a superb game on the PC, but not on the Xbox 360. WoW is good too if you are into mindless fun, but for a lasting experience I would reccommend you get Final Fantasy XI on the PC.

because they see it is an opportunity to enter a universe unlike this...a universe where they can portray who they want to be through ultimately characters that reflect their personality, their style of play, their life.

I too played WoW, and i can say that it is a superb game..but in small doses..and to be honest it allows you to escape the harsh reality into what the customer sees as a seemless world..of quests...adventure and FAT L33t LOOT :P.

dont get  final fantasy you'll definantly regret it. Get Wow its very very easy to play, chosing your class on what you wanna become preist, warrior, rouge and alot more.Raids are also fun and its a growing community even to this day over 8 million players. The price isnt bad to what you receive hours of gameplay .Though i hate waiting in line for my shot at the epics .

LOL, i play it, got a great social life, 3 kids too. It is a great game. Fun, if like me you don't take it too seriously. You really should keep this kind of thing to yourself as you clearly have no clue as to what you are talking about. :-)

WoW is very easy to update; it does it automatically!

You dont "need" an expansion pack immediately since the new races arent that special (they are fun though), and it will take you a while to get to 60.  So, I suggest just waiting until you get to level 60 before getting the Burning Crusade expansion

WoW is one sentence?  Hmmmmm....WoW is a great game, with an awesome community, that is easy to pick up and gets even better as you progress through the game, and you really cant beat it since there is so much replayability (faction, class, race, etc).

Ya, you always hear about the few thousand little kids absent parents and friends or the lonely college student who gets addicted to the game, yet you never hear about the millions of people who play the game casually (casual game times being less than 2 hours a day.

I go to college classes 5-7 hours a day, work 6 hours a day, and hang out with friends...when I am all done doing that, then I play WoW.  Its all about priorities, and WoW should not be one.

I think you made a good pick going with FFXI on the 360. FFXI plays great on 360, and with a HDTV the game looks every bit as good as its PC brother, with a font size thats easy to read.

WoW is a game that anyone can pick up and play, and thats why ppl love it so much, heck, my wife, who's never played a game that I can remember started WoW a few months ago, and now plays it like a pro... its not that hard to do.

As far as content, WoW doesnt even come close to FFXI, and the flexablity of the job system in FFXI is really, really great. On the other hand, FFXI is alot slower, and is a real challenge... the game is old school hard, and you wont see alot of the really cool stuff for months, while you lv up your first couple of jobs.

Dude, my question was, why do people become zombies and sometimes even DIE from overplaying. I know that most of the people who play it are normal, but what i really meant to ask is, what's so special about WoW to make people play for hours and hours and hours on end:?

One could say the same about Gears of War or the Halo series. Seriously, have you ever played WoW, or played it enough to justify your comment? I'm not saying you should enjoy it or anything, as everyone has their own preferences as to which genre of video games they enjoy, but blindly commenting about a game is just nonsense. It's like if I went into a Gears of War thread, and started saying stuff like "Wow, what's so great about this shooting game? All you do is shoot people and stuff. Isn't that just like the original Half-Life, a game I played many years ago?"

Ah, you have my apologies. In answer to your question i suppose these people have an addictive personality to begin with and wow, being an addictive kind of game, makes them that way.
