WOW. VERY!! impressed with the beta...

I can say that I really like Crysis..I cant say the same for it's current optimization state however but regardless it is abeta.

Well you do got 8800 SLI...im not I got a 7900 and it runs like crap 10-25FPS on medium settings with a crapy resolution.Gekko101

what Res were you trying to run at? whats thw rest of your PC specs?

I was getting around between 50fps and 70fps. depending where i am and whats going on around me.

from what i just saw and played.. no question about it, Crysis is going to turn out beautiful.

Beta is very interesting game. Graphics are great and gameplay is complex at first. However I just started getting into it and I managed to snipe someone and make a lot of kills as well. Unstoppable_1

Yeah at first I told myself "This is terrible" because of the inital complexitiy of the game but after playing around a bit more I starting getting sucked into the multiplayer.

The multiplayer was great fun but to me it felt more like an grand singleplayer campaign which im looking very forward too.

The beta graphics were good, but the gameplay was lacking.

It was more fun just running around exploring underwater or trying to freeze different objects then to actaully compete against opponents. The damage system was wack. Rifles (not sniper) are pathetic at long ranges and smgs are better at close range. Headshots don't deal much more damage (takes about 5-6 point blank SCAR shots to the head to kill nanosuit with armor), except with sniper rifles. Putting a laser pointer on a 600P sniper rifle (forgot actual name) makes you a god and the mini-gun deals pathetic damage at anything but close range (and it takes awhile to warm up so its almost completely useless).

Am I the only one who feels lucky when games like Half Life 2 can run smoothly (10-20fps) on lowest settings at 1024x768?

Only thing is that i have to wait to see how my system runs the game at 1920x1080 at ultra high settings, Right now i ran the game smooth as silk at 1920x1080 with everything on high and 8x AA. It might be a different story with ultra high though. have to wait and see.

Why in the world would you put a laser pointer on a sniper rifle? all you need is a scope and your good to go. Seems like you need to sit down with the beta a little more and understand what works for you and how to play the game and be good at it. Once you learn how to use the weapons and scopes, the game play becomes amazing. I'm definitely looking forward to release.

edit: Damage system is whack? It is called Armor mode, have it on on all fights and adapt. Minigun sucks? try keeping it spinning when you are expecting action.

Dude relax, im not trying to show off anything. I'm not the only one with my system specs on gamespot and im sure that many have a better setup than i do. Im just reporting back on how the game played for me so others who wonder about performance would get an idea on how they might be able to play on high settings.

OP can you run it on ultra high? Can you select all graphics options? I mean aren't some options disabled because they've said they've disabled some features that will run only on DX 10.1 cards?gs_gear

The beta only allows AA and high not ultra high. I ran 1920x1080 8X AA on all high.

I dont know why you seem pissed off about what i said. Many people have questions regarding how well the game runs on high settings. Ive had my system for a couple of months already and i earned it by working. I really am not trying to show off or anything im just posting my experience with the game.

Dude dont worry about it I got the same crap for posting my specs on the forums asking how crysis and WIC would run people were like stop showing of you specs. So this is how people are, they are gonna say your showing off cause they dont got high end specs like you do. You earned your system dont let them ruin it for ya.

I'll refrain from using the colorful language that courses through my brain when I read something like this out of fear of getting modded. Instead, I'll drop some logic.

1. Some people have jobs. Jobs pay money. You earn money by going to work. Money comes in a paycheck.
   
2. Some people have jobs that pay enough money to buy a nice computer. Some people have jobs that don't pay alot of money, so they save money to buy a nice computer.
   
3. Just because you've got a crappy PC doesn't mean that people who have a nice one all gota free ride from mommy and daddy.
   
4. Finally, the OP had good intentions in what he was posting. Had I not been in the beta myself, I'd have been happy to compare my specs with his to speculate how the game might run on my machine, which I earned because I have a good job that pays money.

Being that there are a number of threads talking about the Crysis beta, and how it's available to everyone now, He didn't really need to mention the game.
