If someone asked me which to play, someone who had never played an mmo, i would have to say wow. This isn't because i think wow is better, i feel wow is alot easier to learn and get into. I have switched from wow to LotR and find the latter a much more involving and rewarding game experience. It is however in my opinion much more difficult to get your head around. So, to get to the point, WoW for new players and LotR for mmo veterans.
