Well There's this Hanns-G on sale at Newegg. it's 28" with an HDMI input. I already have a 22" with 1680x1050, and was wondering if it's really worth another $260 for a 1920x1200. Also, is 28" too big? I mean I put something up to my monitor right now that was that big, that's looks insanely big, almost enough that gaming would actually be harder (online and stuff). So what do you guys think? is 1920 really that much better and is it too big?

1920 on a 28" is borderline, not enough pixels per inch, you will literally see "dots" of pixels. For 28"+ monitors it really should be 2560x1600.

I heard the 27" dell at 1920 doesn't look very good good because the dot pitch (if thats the term) is too low. I have a 24" dell at 1920, its great, the rez is nice but you need a nice video card to drive the latest games at high+ settings with that rez.

Don't get it, either go with a 24-26 in. 1920, or a 30" 2560.

I currently have the 25" version, and just ordered the 28" one too. Definitely think 1920x1080+ is worth it, being too big is up to you. Plenty of folks have the 2560x1600 30" displays on their desk, probably what I'll move to next.

1920x1200 is a miraculous resolution for a monitor. I will recommend it, taking into account a larger screen space will offer you more room for multitasking purposes. However, you must take into account that having a resolution that high will require much more processing power for hobbies like Gaming.

Though I haven't seen a 28" monitor with that supported resolution - my monitor currently is 24" 1920x1200 supported and the image is simply fantastic for distant viewing or up close viewing.

theres a 27" 16:9 monitor by acer on newegg that has a higher resolution then 1920x1200 so that will look better then the 28" because of greater pixels density

I saw the deal on that monitor at Newegg also....it's a pretty decent buy....but if I'm not mistaken, that screen has a relatively low contrast ratio of something like 800 : 1 which is not great for gaming on a monitor that large. I also believe it doesn't have a DVi connection, only a HDMI and a D-Sub connection...but does come with a HDMI to DVI cable so you wouldn't need to buy one for this screen.

I really like the look of this monitor....it has that high tech look to it and the stand looks rock solid....it seems to have gotten over-all good reviews from buyers and at that price...well it looks to be a nice deal for a screen that size....and it has a 3 tear warranty which is very nice....I was looking at this monitor last year when I was getting ready to buy my new screen. The only thing that really held me back was the contrast ratio and the price at that time was much more expensive.

You wouldn't have any problem running that screen...your specs are solid and 1920 x 1200 is really nice. I have a 23" LG @ 1920 x 1080 and love it....you might just have to get use to moving the mouse pointer a long, long way...lol....28" is big...but that's a good thing.

I have my pc connected to my 52" hdtv home theater system with 1920 resolution. PC monitors and hdtvs are basically the same thing nowadays. And is it too big? After playing games like MW2 and DAO on it, I can say heck no. It's bloody awesome. It's going to be hard going back to my 22" monitor (but that's still great when I'm at my desk).
