Come back to the dark side! But seriously, its up to you. Pre-BC was the most fun in a video game I've ever had, & it was a never ending game. I loved PvP. BC came around & about 5 or 6 more mates started playing & I started getting into PvE over PvP. Raiding with mates was so much fun. I stopped PvP'ing in BC because of arenas & resilience, aswell as changes in AV killed it for me. Pre-BC gameplay was better, but because of mates, BC was socially better. Then WotlK came out & we all left. Cool zones but raids & pvp had died. Everyone looked the same because gear was so easy to get (BC did this aswell, but not near as bad as WotlK).

I quit WoW afew weeks ago because of boredom but Wotlk i feel almost killed the game. Zones = awesome, monsters = awesome, graphics = better, gameplay = still good but then the armour models never changed! You were lucky to get a different looking head piece every 5 levels, incredibly annoying for a warlock.

WoW used to be able to combine you with your character with a sence of pride about your gear and looking cooler as you leveled but then blizz got lazy and made nearly every model the same and i hated looking at my character after that. Plus the armour looked stupid, if your keeping it the same atleast make it look decent in the first place!!! So if your going to join again be prepared for some exteme repitition until high enough to raid.

I think he means Silvermoon Server, not city =P

Well, it's entirely up to you. They've added a few things, tweaked a few others depending on how long it's been since you last played, but the game itself remains essentially the same. It really doesn't take that long to hit 80 (only took me 6 hours game time to get from 79-80) so it might be worth grinding there to see if you like the endgame content, but it's really your shout. If you quit cos you were bored, it really hasnt changed that much to justify coming back.

I have been playing this game for about 3.5 years now and I am to the point where it is just too damn boring now. Best game I have ever played, but its to the point now where I just need something entirely NEW. WOW was my first MMO as it was for many others. Awesome genre. Its just sad that there is not much competetition for wow. Once I get a new computer I am going to try Age of Conan and see how that is. Other than that it looks like I will have to wait for Blizzards new MMO which should be coming out in 3-4 years? Who knows?

Age of Conan is terrible. Aion comes out soon. If you liked WoW, you'll probably like Aion. They took a lot of the good stuff from other MMOs. Can't be any more specific than that... NDA.

WoW is getting boring for me too. I've already cancelled my sub, but game time hasn't run out yet. At level 80, it's basically 3 things: PvP, Raids, Rep Grinds. Neither one of those are compelling/fun enough for me to want to keep playing. And rerolling alts seems just as boring. Been playing BF2 and some other games I have instead. However, if you are only level 66, you might enjoy going through the content, but there's not really much to do at 80. It's just rinse and repeat over and over.

Everyone looked the same because the models were all the same, not because the gear was so easy to get. 10 Green shoulders looked like 10 blue shoulders looked like 2 purple shoulders. Lazy IMO.

I can't agree more.

Pre-BC was probably the best of gaming that i had in my life. The PVP was actually skill based since gear was so hard to get and gave only a small edge if your skills were close. The PVE was fun and had massive raids which i enjoyed and managed to adapt to just before the first expansion was released. After that everything started to feel the same and there was no more difference really...

Before people actually knew who you were and what you could do, but after the expansion came, it just started to look too generic to care if you got a great healer or some guy who knows what he needs to press to heal...gear did the job for you.

So my answer is the same, do not play a game that was ruined with each expansion and is now looking like a game that casual people can enjoy (for a little while as casuals don't play this kind of games for long)

I don't know why people say pre-BC was better. The instances in the first expansion were better in every way except that they took away the option of having 40-man, but then this was a community vote. And resilience for PvP was another thing they did for the community. People were complaining about getting killed too easily due to gear imbalances, so resilience was introduced to help combat that and sort the PvPers from the PvEers. As for the arena, I don't see how having the option to do arena as something bad. It's very competitive and added that extra competition to the game.

Anyway I read next patch there's another new raid dungeon as well as a 5-man plus a new 40vs40 PvP battleground coming. I might end up back in the game too just to check those out.

If you have freinds willing to try it out with you, a pen and paper RPG would be a better (and far cheaper) alternative.

What the Arena did was destroy BG's and world pvp The gear from the arena was much better than the BG gear, so they just got rid of it and gave old arena armor to BGs. Resillience killed pvp for me. PVE-ers were basically done for in pvp. If you are pvping 1v1 against someone in deadly gear and you have full T8.5, you will not stand a chance. What they should have done was slightly bump up the gear you could get from pvp, such as the old warlord/field marshal armor sets. The instances in TBC were amazing and everything, but I think what killed it for most people was the lack of attunements and constant nerfs to the instances(the only acceptable one was the one to vashj). Also, the scaling of the gear took a huge hit with TBC and was utterly destroyed in WOTLK.
