Is it true that gaming & watching movie on HDTV (1080p) will look much better than on a LED monitor?

varies on tastes. personnaly speaking LCD tv looks better at most resolutions around and under 1080p vs LED tv's. the LED tv looks grainy and ugly imho

wah? LED is just the backlight, should look pretty much the same.

Or do you mean comparing tv to computer monitor?

If so, no.

I plan to replace my 21" lcd monitor screen with a 32" HDTV such as the sony bravia series, so i wonder is it really worth it if I am looking for more eye candy. I couldn't find any comparision of picture quality among the two screen.

Often TVs don't work well as monitors since they're designed for TV. Some aren't bad however, see if you can try plugging in a laptop or something before you buy. Make sure you get 1080p then.
