the fighting system is just down right lame and childs play. CLick once to start the attack, click again to do combo, click once more to do the final combo...jayjayman
Show me an RPG that has combat which isn't all about a few simple clicks. Baldur's gate. Fallout. Sure, there's some thought in those games, but it's still a few simple clicks. The Witcher is an action RPG, and should be treated as such. It's like complaining that Diablo 2 has a basic combat mechanic.
The evading moves r also really frustrating to use. THey will never work when u want them to. Doubel tap the arrow keys to roll of jump to that side but they never seem to work when ur acctually in need of them, when ur fighting with the enemy.jayjayman
So, first the combat is too easy and now it's too hard? It admittedly takes some getting used to, but it certainly can be mastered.
The lack of different looking npc's r very confusing. exactly the same looking person but with a different name.jayjayman
It happens in all games. Model-makers don't have time to build five hundred different characters. All games use a pretty limited number of npc models. No matter the genre. It may be more noticable in RPGs, but all you have to do is concntrate a little harder. That's what RPGs are, usually. Thinking and reading.
Damn am i sick of the bugs in this game. A quest will say to talk to this guy about sumthing but when u get to the guy u wont be able to talk to him about that certain quest. I got so frustrated cuz of this that i just quit this game. Yes i did get the 1.2 patch but every hour of so the game just seems to randomly freeze.jayjayman
I played unpatched and experienced zero bugs.
And wtf is the point of having sex with whores and stuff and swearing in this game?jayjayman
Sex and language is right out, but violence is fine? You must be american. Look, it's contextual. He's a good looking guy, and he kills monsters for a living. He's also famous (or at least well known and well respected). He's bound to have a lot of sex. So what if we get to see it? It may be a little childish in its approach, but I don't think its content is anything to take issue with. As for the swearing, people swear constantly in real life. They may have gone a little overboard, but I think not having swearing in dialogue is like not having blood with violence. They just go together.
I wasnt a big fan of oblivion either but i have to say that the witcher is no way near as good as oblivion.jayjayman
I think Oblivion is an amazing game, but I think it's awful as a roleplaying game - in fact, I don't think it is a roleplaying game. So I'm a little hesitant to even compare them unless I have to.
I have nothing against the swearing, probably the first game i acctually played where they dont bleep out the swears. But what the hell is up with the sex scenes at random places. The developers must be hella horny of sumthing.jayjayman
The Witcher is based on a series of novels by a Polish writer named Andrej Sapkowski. He's the horny one. But I don't have an issue with sex scenes. Even if they are a little childish. Like I said about, he's a good looking guy and he kills monsters for a living. Women eat that up.
