Will upgrading to a 8800GT from a X1950 Pro be a big performence gain. Could I play Crysis on high setting with 1280X1024. I can play Crysis with the X1950 pro on medium 1024X768.

8800GT blows the X1950 out of the water IMO.

8800GT is a lot better card, but Crysis might not run smoothly with everything on high.

i can play it pretty smoothly, when i leave some of the settings on medium and some on high with 1280x1024.

when playing multiplayer, i have to put all on medium, except textures (for some looks) to keep it above 30fps all the time.

edit: i'm using 8800GT

Yes!!! I just upgraded from an x1950 pro AGP to an 8800gt pci-express. There is a great performance boost. Crysis runs great with everything on high at 1280x1024 (my monitors native rez)

What the hell?

Do you know that the 9800GTX is basically a 8800gts which is very close to the 8800gt.

Which card manufacturer should I buy it fromMRCORNBREAD

which ever is cheaper. all 8800gt are the same but some charge loads more of factory overclocking which is a waste since the price difference is huge
