1 vote for x1950pro. Plus you can get the Asus x1950pro for cheap and the fan isn't loud.

if u have got some extra cash, the best budget high end card is the 8800GTS, its just for 250.

if u dont then go with the 7600GT. so that u save some cash.

yes but you're talking about a card thats 90$ more expensive so you're talking way out of budget limit.

depends on what PSU you have. of the 3 7600gt is the most power efficient, followed by 7900gs, the worst is 1950

Do you mean least efficient or most power consuming? The x1950 pro and 7900 gs are really close, but the 7600 gt is the least power consuming.

i know people have no problem using the stock 305W dell PSU to run 7900gs, so i would assume its more power efficient than the 1950

the x1950 pro is a tad faster then the 7900 GS

the 7900 GS is faster then the 7600GT (I have the 7900GS)

so: x1950pro>7900GS>7600GT

Whichever graphics card you get, get one from a manufacturer offering a lifetime warranty.

The reality with that fact though is, there are far more manufacturers willing to offer this kind of protection with nVidia graphics cards than there are for ATi. Hell, I don't even know if any ATi graphics card makers are still making cards with lifetime warranties anymore.

that is always something to take into account aswell.  About 4 months ago I was in a similar situation and I opted for the 7900gs because

1. it meant I didnt have to change my PSU

2. it came with a lifetime and an overclocking warranty(all of the x1950's on offer from OCUK.co.uk at the time wouldnt specify and none of their respective sites were able to shed any light on warranties

3. a 7900GS was a bit cheaper and will easily last me to the endo fo this year when I buy a new rig and a DX10 card.

4. This wont appeal to everyone but the 7900GS is a very notorious overclocker, I have mine way way above the standard clocks with a zalman cooler

One thing you could consider is the 8600GTS it performs on a par/slightly less well than a 7900GS but it gives you the option of DX10. But of the cards you mention I wont dispute that the x1950 is more powerful.
