Hey I am interested if it is worth it to get another x1950pro GPU and crossfire it with my current x1950pro. I know these are old cards and it's better to get a new one, but I can get a second hand x1950pro for less than £10. Now I am not sure how much performence increase I would see in newer games such as crysis/farcry 2. I read a little bit about crossfire scalling and I am not sure if they are that accurate now since the drivers have improved over time.

Anyway I can't afford a new GPU so would buying another x1950pro be a good idea. And how much performence increase can I expect on average.

Ty for any help:)

For that price, you could consider it a decent performance upgrade.

Yeah that's not a bad deal. My X1900XT still handles a ton of new games very well, 2 X1950pros should do pretty well.

Ty for the replys guys, one more thing I want to ask is, do I need to get the same card from the same manufactorer? Or can I chose any different brand as long as its X1950pro. Also I currently have 256MB, can i get 512MB or do I need to get the same 256MB?

Ty again

For less than £10 it is worth finding out isn't it? Even if it doesn't offer as much performance as you hope, just sell it on EBAY. I got £50 for my old X1950pro just before christmas.

For a tenner you can't go far wrong. Ideally you want a matching card with the same specs. I don't know how it would handle two cards with different amounts of memory - it might just limit the larger card to 256MB.

I think you are just better off getting a new card
