I'm looking for a little advice from those of you that own both systems. I'm about to get one or the other, $ is not an issue in regards to what I get. I'm interested in getting a system that I'm going to really enjoy. I have a PSP, and that is tipping my opinion a little towards the PS3, however I'm not 100% sold on it. I'd just like a little feedback from those of you that have both systems, Which do you enjoy most? Is there a big difference in graphics? Thanks for your honest opinions, and please, no fanboy flaming.

as of now the xbox has the better games and has a great lineup for 08 also it has xbox live and achievements(which are actually fun)

The PS3 has blu-Ray but the current games arnt that good, its o8 lineup though is better then the Xbox360

As for graphics most multiplatform games look better on the Xbox as its easyer to develop for although their is a debate what looks better uncharted or Mass effect,id say mass effect but both games are quite inferior to the beauty of Kameo a launch tite

I can't speak for the PS3, but my 360 experience has been extremely frustrating. If I were to start this generation over, I'd buy a PS3. The 360 may have more games now, but keep in mind that it will be very buggy and unreliable (unless they've changed something since the 11/07 build date of my latest 360).

yeah i had the same problem deciding wether to get a ps3 or a 360....

i liked that the 360 had a lot of games, but i didn't like how loud the fans were and how it's not very reliable at the moment....i had three friends whose 360's got the red ring of death.....i heard that there was 33 percent failure rate....

now the ps3 doesn't have as many games, but i still liked most of them and they have a really good future line up of games.....it was more reliable and had blue ray...

also theres the online service....i hear the 360 has a better online service, but the playstation network is free and all i need it to do is connect to the internet and play online....

but you should also consider what system your friends own too, im not trying to say just hop on the bandwagon, but if most of your friends have a 360 then you will be able to play with them online, im probably the only person in my area that has a ps3...

but yeah i hope this wall of text helps you out...

What kind of problems? Hardware?ittman123
Every kind of problem. My first disappointment was buying the 360 w/ wireless controllers, only to find I'd have to spend another $30 for rechargeable batteries. The network settings get VERY frustrating if you try to deviate a little bit from a completely standard setting, MS wouldn't support my network setup and told me to call my ISP and ask for more bandwidth- that was one of the dumbest things I ever heard. Then there's been the disc scratching, frame stuttering, complete lockups/crashes, and purchasing problems on the Live marketplace where they take my money and won't let me download. RROD was just icing on the cake.

Even if your 360 doesn't have those problems, you still have a very poor user interface (esp. the marketplace), very loud fans, a rickety disc drive that looks like it could fall apart if you look at it wrong, and nickel & dime schemes to squeeze more money out of you for accessories that should be included ($100 for wireless adaptor, $200? for a HD drive in a "next-gen HD console").

I'd say the only two advantages I see with the 360 are the controllers and the game library (for now). After I play Ninja Gaiden 2, my 360 will be on craigslist.

I too am also faced with the dilemma of PS3 or Xbox360. I like the current lineup(and system exclusive titles) of the 360, but the Ps3's Upcoming lineup is quite worthy I think. I have PS2, DS, and PSP and Im ok with what I have but Id love to upgrade to Next-Gen. Opinions?

Well lemme see, the 360 currently has some very good exclusives on it, such as gears of war, halo 3, bioshock, mass effect, (the ones off the top of my head) while the PS3 has Resistance fall of man, ratchet and clank futer tools of destruction and warhawk (agin off the top of my head). The multi-platform games i have found to be better of the xbox 360. This has been because there are the achivments you can show off to your friends and the online is a much better service. As for upcomeing games the PS3 is going to have a bright futer.... with Resistance fall of man 2, MGS4, Killzone 2, and more....

When your looking at the graphical aspect i think you would be prefering the xbox 360. This is not to say the 360 has better graphics but the two systems use differnt graphics cards. The xbox 360 shows many fine details with much crisper edges in the games making them look fantastic. The PS3 graphics card uses a blur effect into everything wich will make some of the details unnoticable. Its really a matter of opinion on what you want graphic wise, but for my taste its the xbox 360.

The online market place is set up very well on the xbox 360 its very strait forward and there no hassle, as for the PS3 the playstation store is set up alot differntly, they have the same idea about it but the 360 makes it more accesable in a shorted amount of time.

Both setups are done well but if i had to choose i would pick the 360 overall. Better online play, Sharper looking graphics, alot of exclusive games are already out on it, and there is a very nice an eseay to use setup for the 360.

EXTRA FETURES:The PS3 will have to win in the extra fetures area, the PS3 comes with a built in blue ray player (blue ray had 90% of all HD sales last year meening Hd-DVD is failing) the PS3 also has built in wireless and will not over heat like the 360 (if your gunna have a 360 make sure u know how to keep it cool, i personaly have a very good set up with home made intercoolers)

And that about sums is up have fun with your new counsole!! =D

i suggest you buy both , i only have an xbox360 but i need to watch Blu-Ray movies , and home service look neat and im MGS junkie and i want GT5 an FF13 , and i want to play my games on real 720p not upscaled like the xbox360 does, and x360 is cool because it has other games i want and i dont care about hardware issues because i can change it in 5 minutes only , every console have its cons and pros , buy em both and you will be good.

see, this is why I'm asking, all of your input has been great, I'm leaning towards a 360, just due to the library of games, but I'm worried about RROD, and other HW issues. I think that if the HW was less prone to croaking, it'd be a no brainer, but I'm really concerned about it dying out on me.
