[QUOTE="Montaya"] Oh i see. So all i have to do is get an HDMI cable and plug it from the X360 to the Receiver and that will work great right?Montaya
I wish it was that easy, if you were to go HDMI from X360 to receiver you will also need a second to go receiver to TV. You could just stay with your component cables or HDMI straight to TV then use the Optical from the X360 to the receiver.
Advice: Stay away from any Name brand HDMI Hype, cheaper costing HDMI will work just as fine because HDMI is a digital signal. Which means it either works or doesn't / it's either on or off.
Well it's a 720p TV so i don't care about HDMI from 360 to TV for the visuals. I just want to get optimal sound quality. So you say i can use an optical cable from the X360 to the receiver and this will provide the best audio apposed to the OEM L/R red and white connectors? Thanks for the help thus far, i will get one of the optical cables and try it out.EDIT: Apparently my reciever doesnt have an optical input so i guess i could still use the HDMI cable for the sound?
The problem is HDMI is a Video/Audio connection, so I don't know if your X360 will try making the HDMI primary instead of the Component. I never hurts to do a trial and error to see what will work. Also see what you kind of settings you can tweak on the X360 in Audio/Video options. OEM L/R will work, but at the cost of some audio formats. HDMI and Optical will be your two best audio outputs.
Weird to hear that your receiver has a HDMI in, but no optical.
