If I have a standalone monitor with my Xbox 360 hooked up to it with the VGA Cables, is there any way I can hook the sound up to a set of speakers that is not connected to a computer? Thanks for any help.

Yes there is a way. The original Microsoft xbox 360 HD VGA cables should come with an adapter that turns 3.5mm input into 2 female RCA audio ports(white and red) , if you have a speaker input on your computer speakers then you can just hook the adapter into the 3.5mm input and then you can just plug the red and white into your computer speakers this way and the 360 will play the sound just as a computer would through the speakers.

The adapter looks just like the above picture, you could get one at radio shack for less than $5 probably. If you have any questions please ask i've had this setup for a while.
