Hi everybody Well,I hope somebody can help me with the problem I am experiancing with this controller. I am now on my second XBOX 360 controller, the first one suddenly stopped working and without warning decided to vibrate uncontrollably and now the same has happened to my replacement controller. I have re-installed the latest driver software but this has no effect. When I first used the original controller it worked straight away and within 4 to 5 days it stopped working. Can anybody advise me on what the problem could be?,all of my other USB hardware (keyboard, etc) is working fine and there is no issues with my system. Many thanks.

Does this happen on any given USB port you plug it into? Instinctively, I'd say it's a power issue, but it could be your actual USB interface device drivers. Try updating them from the device manager

Either controller does not work, just vibrates no matter what USB port I use,my keyboard/mouse works fine. Here are my PC specs: AMD Phenom II X4 955BE 3.2Ghz Processor ASUS M4A785TD-EVO 4 Gig DDR3 Crucial Balistix RAM 1666Mhz CL7 ASUS XONAR DG 5.1 Soundcard Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 460 1GB Super Overclocked Card 160GB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit CIT 700watt PSU 3 120mm Case Fans I have tried to update the USB drivers via device manager, but Windows says that my drivers are upto date. Any further help will appreciated. Thanks all.

Only thing I can think of next is to test the port with a USB loopback plug. Just because your keyboard and mouse work fine in the ports, doesn't mean everything else is kosher with it.
