The original Xbox had a normal 8GB IDE drive. It'll work just fine if you want to put a few in your PC, but you can find bigger drives out of computers on the curb.kodex1717
Yeah, it will work in your PC. I actually bought a 500 GB hard drive for my original xbox (I'm running linux on it), and I now use it as a media center for my living room.
8 gigs is all i need to store my music hmm can i also use the dvd/cd drive cuz the one i am using now in my pc is well shotTwilightRezin
seriously dude, it's not worth going to the trouble when you can get 500gb for less that $100 nowadays. it does sound like a fun project, but i think xboxdudeman80's "500gb xbox project" sounds a hellofalot MORE fun

The Xbox hard drives are locked and you need to do some modding to get the key. It is not worth the trouble for 8GB. You can get an 8GB flash drive for $25.00 or less or 1 DL DVD. Deihmoswell i would still like to know how to unlock it cuz im thinking of building some thing like few portabul music box's idk
