Hey i've got xbox live and a friends got a gaming pc. He's got halo 2 and i want to be able to play with him on my xbox. I heard about windows live and how xbox players can play people on pc. How does this work? Does he need to download some specific program? How does he get windows live? I tried looking up windows live download but only found windows live messenger. Thanks!
MS has done a terrible job in telling the public what is and isn't part of GFW Live. The only game right now that enables crossplatform play through Live is Shadowrun, which is a terrible game imo.
Halo 2 and Gears only uses Live on PC as an online service, and ISN'T crossplatform enabled.
the windows live abilty comes with Halo 2 for the pc, and it connects directly to my xbox gamertag, it should be as simple as making a party and inviting each other. I hadn't heard of that till now but i;m sure its possible. But as far as needing to download anything, only if halo 2 needs updates, other then that your set.

Actually, Halo 2 DOES have crossplatform capability. To have crossplatform capability the PC Gamer must have a Live gold account, anda Vista Machine. (Halo 2 is supposed to be Vista PC only, but some guys out there has done some modding. I still would recommend getting the gameonly if he has the notedsystems reqs.).
