For anyone who has the controller, post some impressions how is the driver. Too bad there is no wireless adapter for it though.

people are telling me it does not work at all on windows 7 64bit, which sucks because thats what i have
I was ready to jump from the 360 controller but no wireless and no Windows 7 64 bit functionality for the One controller is a major failure. Typical Microsoft :/
Why do people get such a hard on with this controller?
Just buy something like the Logitech F710 which is a great controller and works fine.
@horgen: if you've never used it, its much better. feels better in the hand, and the dpad isn't awful. triggers are better too

because the vast majority of games integrate seamlessly with it... and it is a fantastic controller?
I've used the 360 controller with the drivers and it was very unresponsive on twitch shooters. Has the xbone controller/driver improved upon this to make a it a reliable experience?
Why on earth would you use a controller for twitch shooters?... Seriously why?!
@xhawk27: oh i dont have an xbone controller, i've just been told it doesnt work. then someone else said it works but you need to fully update windows 7 first
Wow, Microsoft really doesn't care about PC gamers at all, do they? Took them til now to get some drivers out? PS4 controller had support PC before the PS4 even launched...
Extremely pathetic, really.

To be fair, PS4 controller support was largely thanks to the community, not Sony.

Naw dawg, the PS4 controller was designed to work out of the box with PCs. The community has nothing to do with it. Support from day 1, you pathetic MS sympathizer!
The only games that don't support the PS4 controller are ones that were specifically designed to support ONLY the 360 controller, and nothing else. Microsoft forced developers to make their games work with controllers with GFWL, and encouraged specifically ONLY 360 controllers with their input plugin. This trend caught on and became the status quo because 360 controllers have already become so common, despite GFWL's demise. Any game that supports any gamepad will support the DS4, otherwise you need a community driver which serves the purpose to emulate 360 controllers because developers are lazy. It's really not Sony's fault - they can't help that developers make their games to only work with Microsoft products...

Hahahaha! That look on his face is classic. But seriously, whenever I hear someone say "I dont know how people use controllers for shooters" I cant help but wonder: Do your opposable thumbs work? Its one of the main features of the human body that separates us from every other species on this planet lol.
Ahh, so you guys haven't used the controllers on FPS? I am fine with using m/kb but, for stuff like flying jets in BF4 a controller is superior. But, I shouldn't have expected a decent answer from these threads.

I use the controller for racing games and third person RPG like Dark Souls 2 and The Witcher 2... Along with platformers.
... But no I don't use the 360 controller for FPS games and when I am in a Jet I have my X52 pro.
Also "TWITCH" being the key word here... I am sorry opposable thumbs just can't compete with the flick of the wrist.

Mouse and keyboard is by far better for jets than a controller. The world of warplane people often want mouse and keyboard users to get nerfed because the aiming is much more precise on a mouse.
There were 0 top dogfight pilots using a controller on pc for BF3, they all used mouse and keyboard.

Yup, that's why when any xim3 user goes on xbox with all the autoaim, the xbox guys put up a great fight
Also there is no such thing as a twitch shooter with a controller.
@horgen: Functionally it's basically the same, but it's a higher quality controller overall. The only practical differences are that there is no distinction between a wireless and wired controller on the X1 (there is only one controller) and you don't require a special charging cable to recharge it. Also, the 360 Wireless Controller would not connect to a PC through it's USB connection so even if you had the cable you still needed the receiver.
I'm glad to see this driver has come out, but I'm annoyed by the lack of wireless support. The X1 controller uses WiDi, so theoretically it could connect to a PC without the need for a special receiver like the 360 had as long as you have a WiDi compatible NIC.

Humans are not that special.
========
Humans have what are known as opposable thumbs. This means the thumbs can move and rotate independently of the other four fingers. Some primate species share this feature with humans, assisting them in grasping, manipulating and handling objects more efficiently. Opposable thumbs also assist in the creation and usage of tools, and the development of fine motor skills. Primates with opposable thumbs include great apes -- chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans and gorillas -- and Old World monkeys like baboons and Colobus monkeys.

They have even made computer chips that they implanted into chimps brains that allow them to stimulate movement in the hand and play a video game through the chimp using a controller. Plus they have brain implants that allow chimps to control virtual arms and mechanical arms with their brains.
