How to do connect the controller after installing the drivers? I hit the button on the receiver and then it started flashing but when i try to connect the controller it spins the green led's but remains flashing afterwards.

Use a generic windows driver for it... I forget how to do it... I'll try and find the directions and edit my post with them.

Edit*** If you see the device, select it and go to choose driver... you should see one called "Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class" ... choose that and your controller should work perfectly.

I'd give you the step by step... but I dont have my controller right now... so i can't check all the steps.

It's very faulty on Windows Vista. You need to install the official driver for it to work before plugging it in. DOESN'T work with the generic Windows driver (from my past experience).

I just installed my own Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows by simply plugging it into a USB port, and windows update downloaded and installed the drivers automatically. The computer I tested this on had a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

The device should be plug-and-play compatible :-)

Edit: As for how to operate it; you press and hold the button on the receiver for a few seconds until it starts blinking. Then you press and hold the sync button on your Xbox 360 wireless controller (the little button between the shoulder buttons) when it is already powered on. The controller should sync with the receiver and windows will notify you of a newly connected controller.

I'm not actually sure how to cleanly turn the controller off again afterwards aside from just letting it idle, which lets it power down on its own. You can also simply remove the battery pack to kill the power.
