I'm trying to make the ideal setup for gaming. My 5.1 speaker system is working perfectly fine. It's the sound card's settings I'm having trouble with.

Currently, I'm trying to get the best ideal setup for games like BioShock, that use a ton of surround sound and atmoshperic effects.

My current settings from console:

Speakers - 5.1

EAX Effects - Enabled, 0.00dB, set on Theatre (other options include Ampitheater, Jazz Club, Stone Hall, etc.)

CMSS-3D - Enabled, Stero Xpand, 100% slid to Stereo

Crystalizer - Enabled, 65%

Are these settings good? It doesn't sound quite good when I play games and music.

Id put Stereo Surround CMSS-3D Instead if you want to hear Sound From Behind as Well and put near 50-65% then adjust volume to get All speaker Example if you put volume bar at 50% but the Front are too Loud : You put the Front a little Back So the Back if they are 3-4 Feet Behind will reach you with enough DB

Like My X-540 I must put around the Wave at 100% : Master volume 100% but in advenced i reduce the Channel 1 & 2 & 3 by 10% over the Rear so they sound perfectly 5.1 enough for me :D when i play Game / Music :P
