So my 4890 which I got around a year ago is making some really loud buzzing or vibrating sound at start up. I put my finger against the fan's centre to push it against the GPU and the sound stops. Is this a problem? It doesn't make the same loud buzzing sound under load, just at startup. Oh and the temps (idle and load) are fine too.

The fan is out of sync , Just clean it with some compressed air and see if it stops.

If it continues, just call in to XFX. They should be able to send you out a replacement if anything.

I have the exact same card and have the exact same issue. It worried me at first, but at this point I'm pretty sure it's not a problem. It goes away after a few minutes.

^^^Do that. Even if it doesn't make it stop, keeping it clean will keep it from getting worse.

Sounds like the fan is at it's last breath. If you still got the warranty for the card just send it to the importer, or the place you bought it from, and they'll replace it. If the warranty has expired, just buy a new fan for 10-20$ and you'll be fine. (Or a whole new cooler)
